What about priests who share the same concept of pro-choice actions and pro-same sex marriage movements? ‘All’ is a bit too much, and sadly many persons can be even priests of the Church, even if they disagree on the Church’s stands. 😦

God Bless.

Chris.
I highly doubt you can name a Priest who is pro-abortion and pro same-sex marriage. If you can please give me his name and I will make certain he is reported to his Bishop for penance and counciling.

I’m sure Father Andrew Greeley has been accused before of supporting same sex marriage:

And what about Father Jenkins at the Notre Dame scandal?

God Bless.

I currently can not receive communion - but it is also my personal responsibility to enforce that.

To the extent that a person publicly advocates their position - and the priest is aware of it, then they should not receive communion (any more than my local priest who is completely aware of my situation and working with me to resolve it would give me communion).

To the extent that they support that position, I think they should self enforce not receiving communion (as I do when going to mass when the priest does not know my situation).

To the extent it is their belief, but the submit to the church and do not act on it, then they should be allowed communion (we are all subject to temptation - but with help we can overcome it).
A belief is the same as a conviction. If a person holds a conviction that is anti-Catholic and does not act on it, the guilt incurred is the same as though he or she had committed the act. Christ said that a man who looks at a woman to lust after her has already committed adultery in his heart. If that is the case with “looking with lust” then the same can be said for holding a conviction in your heart that is contrary to Church teaching even if you do not act on it. Temptation is a thought that is immediately dispelled as false, sin is acting on temptation, knowing it is wrong but committing the act anyway.

If I needed to I would report both Priests to their Bishops, however I am certain that the publicity of their cases is already well know to the Archdiocese and to to many Catholic. Public statements by Priests that conflict with church teaching can incur excommunication and in many cases this is the result. Parishoners usually do not incur the same aggressive discipline that Priests do and I already know of several Priests who were in fact excommunicated. As this is a sinful world, Priests also sin and even some Bishops sin publicly although it is far more difficult for them to retain their Priesthood as the office of the Priest is public not private which makes them far more vulnerable to excommunication. I do not expect Father Jenkins nor Father Andrew Greely will be able to continue in opposition to church teaching without incurring discipline from the Vatican. Watch with me and see the fall of both Priests from their place of honor as do all who oppose the Holy Will of God.

No one can defy Christ and live to tell about it.

There is a reason why those in error are allowed by God to witness to their own errors and that is to make known the just faith of the true believers. Did you ever wonder why the world has so many religions and even why Christianity is infiltrated with false teachings from not only protestants also some who call themselves Catholic? If you need me to find it for you I will although the Scripture states that those in error are allowed by God to make known the just faith of the true believers. It is somewhat like what happened in the Old Testament where God made himself known through extraordinary circumstances in the lives of the Jews, we in this century are witnessing Christ being made known through the errors of protestants and anti-Catholic Catholics as well as believers in other religions such as Islam, Hindu, Buddhist etc. Without the example of those in error, how will the children of light be made known to the world?

Chapter 3

1 Because of this, I, Paul, a prisoner of Christ 2 (Jesus) for you Gentiles -

2

if, as I suppose, you have heard of the stewardship 3 of God’s grace that was given to me for your benefit,

3

(namely, that) the mystery 4 was made known to me by revelation, as I have written briefly earlier.

4

When you read this you can understand my insight into the mystery of Christ,

5

which was not made known to human beings in other generations as it has now been revealed to his holy apostles and prophets by the Spirit,

13 Now I rejoice in my sufferings for your sake, and in my flesh I am filling up what is lacking 14 in the afflictions of Christ on behalf of his body, which is the church,

25

of which I am a minister in accordance with God’s stewardship given to me to bring to completion for you the word of God,

26

the mystery hidden from ages and from generations past. But now it has been manifested to his holy ones,

27

to whom God chose to make known the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; it is Christ in you, the hope for glory.

28

It is he whom we proclaim, admonishing everyone and teaching everyone with all wisdom, that we may present everyone perfect in Christ.

29

For this I labor and struggle, in accord with the exercise of his power working within me.
