Oh, this won’t go badly at all, nor be perceived as inflammatory in the slightest. 🍿

If it’s inflammatory, it’s not in the poll, but in the potential comments.

I personally disagree. I think your poll options can be viewed as inflammatory. Particularly your second one.

It’s either important or it’s not important.

It may not have the most favorable connotation, but the phrase “but who cares” is essentially synonymous with “unimportant” or “not important.”

Besides, we’re doing good so far, and most respondents are at one.

Because it’s flippant, as opposed to, “Yes, and it has no impact on my opinion.” It makes it skewed.

I agree with what you said, and I am out of likes. ❤️

It’s not as if there was an option for “there are other more pressing matters.”

That we should obliterate the cartels and establish a UN Coalition?

Where’s the option for “I agree with what was said, but not how it was said”?

Is there some way the Catholic Church can provide surety for the petitioners to appear in court? This issue arose as a backlash against people being given a court date to hear their petition and then not showing up. If we can solve that problem, there will be no need for anybody to be held in custody until trial. So can we house the petitioners in our churches until trial?

I listen to them but only end up confused. They seem to espouse novel positions and offer only sound bites in support of these radical positions. Furthermore they seem to judge a situation in its entirety when it is dependent on case by case specific facts.

How would that work? What resources do you think the average parish can offer on a regular sustainable basis? Where would the personnel come from that would be required to carry out this plan come from? Our parish already has a difficult time even getting volunteers for things.

The poll could be designed much better. Not necessarily more options, but more understanding.

Well of course they are. White ethnic Catholics are having children at or below replacement levels. Immigration–including illegal immigration (you couldn’t pay me enough to say “undocumented”)–from Mexico and Central America is the only thing keeping the Church in the USA from suffering the same demographic fate as Mainline Protestantism.
