That is a harder question to answer than you would think. TO make it simple, Greek Orthodox and Russian Orthodox. There are others, but you are probably not familier with them. What is considered East?

East historically meant everythign east of Greece. West was west. Greece was more or less the division area, but eventually it became all orthodox. Rome was central to Western Christianity, and the other four Patriarchs for the Eastern Christians.
I define it as “churches that don’t use the Roman/Latin rite.” This would include the Byzantine Eastern churches and the various rites of the Oriental churches. That is a harder question to answer than you would think. I accept that definition, and think it is better than mine, as long as you are not trying to separate those in union with Rome and those not in union with Rome.I define it as “churches that don’t use the Roman/Latin rite.” This would include the Byzantine Eastern churches and the various rites of the Oriental churches.

I agree with you. Notice how I didn’t make a reference to Orthodox or Catholic.I accept that definition, and think it is better than mine, as long as you are not trying to separate those in union with Rome and those not in union with Rome.
It gets too complex.
Yes. I should do the same.I agree with you. Notice how I didn’t make a reference to Orthodox or Catholic.
It’s my fault, I attempted to submit a poll and the first one submitted without the poll - didn’t know how to fix it. So I tried again.Hmm, it seems that there are two threads with this title. Maybe they should be merged? The other is forums.catholic-questions.org/showthread.php?t=258128
