May I also ask why the OP is so curious about this. I believe this is the second topic started by the OP recently on this subject. Pax et bonum:) .

On a more serious note, this question appears to be debated and discussed by many evangelical groups in other Christian denominations. They go trolling through scripture finding all sorts of spurious numbers and dates to bolster their various and diverse calculated dates.
To us Catholics the date of His coming is not important as we should be living our lives as if the event is in the next instant. Our Church has never pronounced on this, so neither should we speculate as this will lead us to interpret scripture by our own devices.

Because I’m looking forward to it! It’s my dream to see Jesus return. I suspect though, since he’s waited 20 centuries, the chance of him returning in my lifetime is slim 😦 But still, I hope!

If this isn’t a thread that is ridiculous then I need to re-define “ridiculous” in my dictionary…

I agree with many of the posters above… He’ll get here when He gets here… Until then we have a job to do instead of sitting around trying to figure out His return… Watching/Waiting is totally different than predicting/presuming… Presumption is a major tactic the Devil likes to use to turn people’s minds from the truth.

I have gotten so weary of this whole “figure-out-when-Jesus-returns-so-we-can-all-get-“born-again/saved”-at-the-last-minute-and-scare-the-Catholics/Non-Christians-into-our-view-of-salvation” that I’ve just started praying for the poor people who follow this pitiful, pitiful “indoctrination”. And that’s coming from an ex-Pentecostal…

Just my $0.02…

There is no way that anyone can predict when Christ will come, he himself said he will come at a time no one expects.
Exactly.

The given Theology I often hear is not so much a second coming in this life, as the second coming relates to after we die and cross over and he comes there.
