I understand what you are saying, we should respect their wishes. But saying Joe instead of Joseph isnt or shouldnt be a big deal. Im not sure if you are aware of their beliefs PR but they put more stock into smith than Jesus or God. And when they can show us all proof of their allegations that their church is the true church and smith was indeed a true prophet of our Lord, then ill say joseph smith rather than joe smith. And whats funny is that I have been using joe smith along with TK and others here for sometime now but no complaints. The reason they (or him) is complaing is beacause he is trying to get off topic because they cannot back their claims or beliefs.

I already did a search and couldn’t find your explanation anywhere on the forum.

You also need to be able to demonstrate that it was Joseph Smith’s writings that inspired this crime.

TK, I have heard you say this on more than a few occasions and have never thought it appropriate to ask you about it as I’m sure there has to be a lot of pain there. But can you at least tell us; was anyone ever prosecuted for this? I have always wondered about that.

I don’t think I am asking something unreasonable. You made an inflammatory accusation, claiming that Joseph Smith’s writings inspired Mormons to kidnap your children.

Don’t you think that prompts the question: what writing? And how did this inspired Mormons to kidnap your children?
 
Now here in Utah, they dont kidnap peoples kids, but they will try and take your kids through other means and adopt them. I have never read anything myself about smith and kidnapping but they must get their beliefs somewhere. Now these things I get from the local news when the real parents try to get their kids back. But I do believe TK and what happened to him.

It’s as dismissive as if someone called Pope Francis, The Big Frank. Especially if the poster clearly was against the Catholic Faith.

Mormons are some of the nicest people I know. That, of course, is irrelevant to this discussion, really. The fact remains that LDS church has departed from the Faith given, once for all, to the saints. And the practice of polygamy is a great abyss in this departure.

It’s like using the word “murderer” when in a discussion with a pro-abortionist. It only serves to inflame and de-rail the discussion. You could be making lots of convincing arguments but all the pro-abortionist sees is the fact that you called her a murderer.
