I don’t remember his name off the top of my head, but he didn’t write a book.
He was going to declare that a bad translation of the Bible was to be the definitive translation full of no errors.
To this day, the Catholic Church has no such official Bible that we claim is translation error free.

The wikipedia article says he was on his deathbed. Like he was dying. I thought as spoken here he died suddenly of natural causes. The wikipedia article kind of makes things sounds different.
