Pope Francis has appointed Archbishop Giovanni Angelo Becciu as his special delegate to the Sovereign Military Order of Malta.

More…
 
A couple interesting things:
  1. the Holy Father’s mandate to the archbishop that he serve as the Pope’s delegate to the Order in all things seems to completely supersede Cardinal Burke’s roll as Patron. Where does that leave him?
  2. The pope and the archbishop intend to edit the Order’s constitution? That’s huge.
