Pope Benedict Attacks Population Control Efforts Like UNFPA Backing Abortion

The Vatican (LifeNews.com) – Pope Benedict XVI released his annual peace message on Thursday that touched on a number of political subjects but also went after population control campaigns. He criticized efforts that rely on abortion or try to use reducing the birth rate as a method of economic development.

God bless Pope Benedict! I hope many of the supporters of Obama will read this as well.

Here here! The population must be allowed to flourish until it reaches 100 billion people.

There’s no mention of UNFPA in the pope’s remarks. At least not in any portion quoted in the article from my skimming of it.

And Obama has said that one of his first acts will be to overturn the Mexicoa City Protocaol and let US Funds once more fund overseas abortions.

I assume you dont know what UNFPA does?
I was under the impression that they feed the poor. Aside from that I have honestly no idea what they do.

Regardless the headline is misleading. It makes it seem like the pope attacked UNFPA by name or at least with specific allusion, when in fact he just made a general statement which is being in an opinion piece applied (not by the pope but by the opinion piece writer) to UNFPA.

The Vatican has in the past criticized UNICEF. I’m sure if they wanted to they would criticize UNFPA with the same specificity.

They are an international Popualtion Contol organization that promotes contraception and abortion. -which is exactly the kind of group the Pope was criticizing.

This is good news!

Though why dose the article say he attacks? The Pope dosen’t attack, he teaches. Bad choice of words cause bad reactions, methinks.

We can’t let the population get to 100 billion?

Who put us in charge of deciding who gets murdered to “save the planet”?

Sancta Maria, Mater Dei, Ora Pro Nobis Peccatoribus!
