Rome, Italy, Mar 7, 2009 / 07:18 pm (CNA).- The Israeli ambassador to the Holy See on Friday said that Pope Benedict XVI will not visit Israel’s Holocaust Museum which accuses Pope Pius XII of inaction on the Holocaust. I applaud Pope Benedict’s decision. Maybe a few people will realise that there are things that are offensive to Catholics.

Good for him. He needs to be supported in this decision.

But yet, there will be some neurotic rabbi(s), seconded by the Israeli and American news media, saying he should visit anyway.

If Pius XII had made “loud” condemnations of nazis during WWII, and 7 million Jews were killed instead of 6 million, these same rabbis, like the illustrius Marvin Heir, would criticize Pius for “not keeping his mouth shut”.

(Yes, I know I can’t spell worth a darn).
