In a chirograph to Archbishop Vincenzo Paglia, Pope Francis expressed esteem for the prelate’s past work as president of the Pontifical Council for the Family and said that as he named him president of the Pontifical Academy for Life and grand chancellor of the Pontifical John Paul II Institute for Studies on Marriage and Family, he hoped to promote collaboration between the two bodies.
