Rob,

I am sorry but that is not true. No history of the Church claims that papal inffallibility was accepted universally as far back as the 300’s. I am talking about objective academic church histories that are not written with any kind of agenda or bias.
.
In other ones the only ones you will accept as credible are ones that agree with you?

Correct me if I am wrong but if you are a Latin Rite Catholic you must accept all the Church dogmas ,case closed! If you don’t then it becomes your catholic church, or if the guy next to you won’t accept a different dogma then it becomes thecatholic church according to him, ect. ect.
I don’t think it matters if you are “Latin rite” or not. If you are a Catholic then you are supposed to assent to every single teaching of the Magisterium under pain of excommunication, according to official Roman theology.

I think everyone has to use their own well formed conscience when making moral choices. That doesn’t mean I’m ammoral or immoral, I just think morality is more complicated then just following rules that are laid down. Isn’t the idea of moral dogma being infallible a little juvenile? I mean, nothing is black and white. Very few catholics actually accept everything the Magisterium says about morality anyway. Take the Terry Schiavo situation. I remember devout Catholics saying she should be allowed to die.

I’m a well educated adult. I don’t need the Pope to tell me what is right and wrong. I can make those decisions on my own, in a responsible manner.

You posts on this thread testify to the contrary.

A Catholic is supposed to live a life of faith; faith in God, faith in Christ and faith in the Church led by the Holy Spirit. While there are some areas that can be disagreed with, when something has been defined as a dogma, it is to be believed, even if you can only do so on faith and you do not understand the reasoning. To put faith in one’s own intellect over faith in the guidance of the Holy Spirit in matters of dogma puts on in danger of heresy.
CCC #2089 "Heresy is the obstinate post-baptismal denial of some truth which must be believed with divine and catholic faith, or it is likewise an obstinate doubt concerning the same;
