I’m a Catholic and to me, it makes no difference where someone comes from; we’re all from the same place originally. So when it comes to Ireland for instance, why say “Ireland”, as if they are a different type of Catholic? By talking about a “hurt country” you are bunching all the Catholics together as if they are all hurt. Yes geographically Ireland is different than England and America, but spiritually, there is no difference in the sense that we are born of a man and woman as a gift from God, with an immortal soul, intellect and free will. Each person has his/her own journey towards God, whether it be in a city, a hut, or an army tank. Every person is so unique that we musn’t assume that all Irish Catholics are “hurt” or “damaged”. Many yes, and the abuse (anywhere) is deplorable, but dont be patriotic about a person#s soul; it goes beyond borderlines on a map.
