Pope Francis hopes for the grace to know when to quit

I am sure any future resignation/retirement will be sufficiently formal and well documented that a pope emeritus can’t just “come back.”

Considering what happened the last time that a pope emeritus came back, they are going to make sure it never, ever happens again.

I’m referring to Benedict IX, who was Pope three times:

Popes do a lot more than say public masses.

I’m not Catholic, but Pope Francis’s inner light was one of the embers that enticed me back to (my) Church.
