As I have mentioned on these forums before, I am not Catholic but I am feeling increasingly drawn to the faith as I study and pray. The moment I saw that the new pope had chosen the name Francis, I had a good feeling (St. Francis of Assisi and his ability to emulate Christ is one of the things that has drawn me to the faith). The more i read about Pope Francis, the more I feel excited to have such a holy man in the Chair of Peter. I know I had seen churches, monasteries, Jesuit centers, etc. over the last few months that have had images of then Pope Benedict XVI. I am feeling called to hang an image of Pope Francis in my room and to pray for him everyday. Does anyone know where a high quality photo of the new pope could be obtained for someone who identifies with the poor in both spirit and financial status?

There probably will be over the next few days, I know the Vatican has created Habemus Papam postcards with Francis I picture on them but I am sure there will be ways to purchase images of him soon.

As stated above, there will be an official portrait made soon, but for now - you might find one of THESE worthwhile printing off.

NOTE…The further one goes down the page of images…the further they get from our Holy Father…some are pretty bizarre - It’s just what comes up in the search. Sorry…

Peace
James

MysticSeeker,

I can’t vouch for the quality, but The Catholic Company is selling some framed and non-framed prints. There are numerous other Catholic online stores, just Google “Catholic goods.” Or you could contact your local Catholic bookstore and ask when they’re getting some in.

He has such a friendly face. He honestly reminds me of his name sake

I feel the same way. Expect a holy card with the Pope’s image to appear soon in a Church vestibule near you! We have the last 2 pope holy cards on the wall near our family shrine/altar. I’m feeling the need to pray for this Pope in a most intense and unexpected way. Glad to hear I’m not the only one!
