And Fr. Martin was not ex-communicated, arrested, defrocked and brought before the Inquisition?🤔😜

This is probably not good news for a lot of people here at CAF.

I think it’s awesome!! ❤️☺️

Yeah, while the popular blogger priest Fr. Z has colorful, and frankly uncharitable, names for Fr. Martin…as do people here on CAF…he remains a priest in good standing. Some of his statements do make me uncomfortable and seem to push the boundaries when it comes to Church teaching on homosexuality…but he is a priest, in good standing, and apparently on good terms with the Pope.

Considering that the pope continues to hold audiences or appoint clerics of questionable character, including bishops with accusations of abuse cover-up, a priest in ‘good standing’ doesn’t seem to mean what it used to.

Fr. Martin SJ Has many awards given to him for his “good Standing” - This is from New Ways Ministry.
Interesting since New Ways Ministry is not itself an organization in “good standing” with the Church.

I want a private audience with the Pope. I have a couple of questions…

I’m not sure this means much.
Bishop Fellay of the SSPX.
Nancy Pelosi
Bono
Madona
Fr Martin
All had a meeting with the Pope.

Also I’m not sure of the accuracy in talking about a LGBT etc community. It doesn’t seem that Lesbians, Gays, non binarys and Transexuals have much to do with each other and indeed many seem to have a general antipathy to the other groups.

The only thing I am aware of that would come close to a community is the male homosexual ‘gay scene’ which is a long way from where the church is regarding morals and practices.

Appears that anything goes these days. Pacification rules.
Also, I believe people are afraid to confront anger. Whips need to be drawn and used. IMO

Who will Jesus whip is the better question. And He will.

Then who precisely will that be?

As long as you are claiming Jesus will hurt people, you should at least avoid confusion and ambiguity, and just tell us what you mean by this.

“For these are they who defile and turn into a den of robbers, that is, of themselves the heavenly house of the Father, the holy Jerusalem, the house of prayer; having spurious money, and giving pence and small change, cheap worthless coinage, to all who come to them. These are they who, contending with the souls, take from them what is most precious, robbing them of their better part to return to them what is worth nothing”. ~ Origen~

Jesus didn t hit nor whip people.
Not even animals . A whip of cords makes a sound that scatters.
He didn t go physically like that against persons but objects.

Sorry, but I still have no idea who you think Jesus is going to brutally assault, or what Origen’s quote has to do with Fr. Martin meeting with Pope Francis. You’re going to have to spell it out for me.

Right. I don’t assign much significance to these types of meetings. Popes meet with lots of people. They meet with presidents and politicians—some of whom disagree with Catholic teaching on a whole host of things.

But when the pope meets with someone, the meetings are cordial and focused on the areas of agreement. Popes seldom take these opportunities to scold people.

This is very wrong. Even if we accept that Father is a heretic and a public sinner (and I am not acknowledging this premise), all priests demand respect by virtue of their office.

There’s a little more leeway when a cleric has been publicly disciplined, like McCarrick, but even then we owe them the respect owed to every human being.
