Great message!
Yes, and also utterly fake. But I had an inkling something wasn’t right when the ‘Pope’ started talking about bad improvisation.

I appreciate that this ‘speech’ was posted with the best of intentions, but it only serves to deflate Catholic organists when they find out the real source, like waking up and realising it was all a dream and things are the same as they ever were.

The bit about improvisation is absolutely true. Many Catholic organists are atrocious at improvisation and have damaged their instrument’s reputation (what reputation?!) with their aimless wanderings over the years. I have been a church organist for twenty years and I still won’t improvise. I am just not good enough at it. Either play specially composed organ pieces or play a selection of hymns. For God’s sake don’t improvise unless you are as good as Olivier Penin at St. Clotilde, who manages to produce such beautiful improvs without sounding like a hymn book has fallen on the manuals.

Best wishes,
Padster
