"V. Let us pray for our Sovereign Pontiff, Pope Francis:

R. The Lord preserve him and give him life,
and make him blessed upon the earth,
and deliver him not to the will of his enemies. Amen."

We take refuge under thy protection,
O holy Mother of God;
despise not our petitions for Pope Francis
in his necessities,
but ever deliver him from all dangers,
O glorious and blessed Virgin. Amen.

Heavenly Father,
be pleased to bless and protect our Holy Father,
Pope Francis,
whom you have chosen as the successor of St. Peter
as the chief minister of unity
and charity in the Church.
Keep him safe in holiness of life
and in wise fulfillment of his awesome responsibilities.
We ask this through Christ, our Lord.
