"V. *Let us pray for our Sovereign Pontiff, Pope Francis:

R. The Lord preserve him and give him life,
and make him blessed upon the earth,
and deliver him not to the will of his enemies. Amen.*"
(Daily Roman Missal, MTF.)

We take refuge under thy protection,
O holy Mother of God;
despise not our petitions for Pope Francis
in his necessities,
but ever deliver him from all dangers,
O glorious and blessed Virgin. Amen.

(Adapted from the Sub Tuum prayer to Our Lady.)

Saint Michael, the archangel, defend us in battle, be our defense against the wickedness and snares of the devil, may God rebuke him, we humbly pray. And do you, O’ Prince of the Heavenly host, by the power of God thrust into Hell Satan and all the other evil spirits who prowl about the world for the ruin of souls.

Amen.

Our Father who art in Heaven, hallowed be thy name.

Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread.

And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us.

And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.

Amen.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee.

Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb Jesus.

Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death.

Amen.

Heavenly Father, thank you for calling Pope Francis to feed your sheep and to lead your Church in these troubled times. Give him your Holy Spirit to speak truth to the world, the faithful and the faithless alike, with courage, wisdom, and love. May he always walk close to your Son, our Lord Jesus Christ, abiding in him and bearing much fruit to the glory of God. May he be a channel of your mercy and turn many hearts to you. Let your peace and protection remain upon him in all his travels. We ask these things in Jesus’ name. Amen

Most holy Virgin and Mother,
whose soul was pierced by a sword of sorrow
in the Passion of thy Divine Son,
and Who in His glorious Resurrection
wast filled with never-ending joy at His triumph;
obtain for us who call upon thee,
so to be partakers in the adversities of Holy Church
and the sorrows of the Sovereign Pontiff,
as to be found worthy to rejoice with them
in the consolations for which we pray,
in the charity and peace of the same Christ our Lord.

Amen.

O Holy Trinity,
we thank you for having given to the Church,
Saint John Paul II,
and for having made him shine with your fatherly tenderness,
the glory of the Cross of Christ
and the splendor of the Spirit of love

He, trusting completely in your infinite mercy
and in the maternal intercession of Mary,
has shown himself in the likeness of Jesus the Good Shepherd
and has pointed out to us holiness
as the path to reach eternal communion with You.

Grant us, through his intercession,
according to your will,
the grace that we implore,
of protection and guidance of the current pope.

Amen.
