Given that everyone is called on to defend the family and families;

given that Scripture says to use our gifts and talents to help others both those who are similar to ourselves and different from us;

given that many people happen to be living as families of one especially if there aren’t relatives nearby;

Since some forum members probably can get more of a handle on how to search through the Pope’s documents than me and also what his characteristic vocabulary is;

Please can you answer the following question which I want to try to pin down as follows.

Has Pope Francis excluded people living singly from any beneficial “definition” of “family”?

Or has he explicitly gone somewhat in the opposite direction.

I have a specific step-by-step reason for examining this point which I shall follow up in another thread if you can help me with this one first.

Thanks friends.

Can a person be a family of one? Or is that person just one member of a family, even if they are separated by space?
