Seems to me that Pope Francis is pulling no punches with the faithful and is trying to get us to think more deeply about how we are living our lives. Is he encouraging an interior spring clean and an outward polish?
Hint taken on my part, will not put it off until next week.
. I suppose being a pretty rosewater person means that we haven’t got the substance needed to build our faith solidly?

I don’t know about anyone else, but Pope Francis is certainly taking every opportunity to reinforce a lot of things that may get a bit overlooked in distracted and busy lives. He is getting me to think a great deal more.

I’ve spoken with many Catholics who are near my age, 60, who interpret Papa Francis’ exactly as you have! I thank The Lord everyday that this humble servant is our new Holy Father. I dearly loved JPll, and The Pope Emeritus was a brilliant theologian, but Pope Francis is truly a Shephard for his flock.🙂

Yes, I agree. We have been very blessed with the Popes, each of whom has been very different yet they build upon the work of their predecessors.

👍

I so agree!👍 I grew up with The Jesuits and have considered myself very lucky to have been around many priests like Pope Francis. I pray that those who are weary of some of the things he is saying will step back and open their hearts and minds to let God touch them in a new and very special way. I too thank God everyday that my family and I are alive to experience his teaching on our faith.

He has definitely had me reflecting quite a bit about my relationship with God and how I live out (or fail to live out) my faith. I think I’ve grown quite a bit because of his words. Definitely an effective teacher!

He is truly proving to be a very interesting Pope and I thank God for him. Yes does seem to be shaking up the Curia like a spring cleaner. Additionally, he is taking us much deeper than ideology to place where we must be on our knees in prayer so that we may truly act in love.

Yes, it does seem to be a back to basics message, which is no bad thing in a world full of distractions. I also like the fact that his messages are not overly complicated. In fact, I started to compare his Homilies to the bulletin messages and homilies of our Parish Priest and noticed the same concise but simple approach. Hopefully the rest of the Diocese will follow suit with the bulletin messages so that we are more lined up with the Pope.

Amen! 👍

“God surprises us. It is precisely in poverty, in weakness and in humility that he reveals himself and grants us his love, which saves us, heals us and gives us strength. He asks us only to obey his word and to trust in him.” Pope Francis
