Don’t delete it. People may be interested to know about it. I was. Just edit it in the end saying you no longer have a problem with it.

st faustina is not magisterium . We should stop quoting saints like they are infalible
I didn’t say she was infallible…nor did I say she was the magisterium…and since when are Catholics forbidden to quote saints.

I completely understand. There was nothing at all “wrong” with your post. This is how we learn. We are all sinners, shortsighted, and have cold hearts as time. Join the sinners club; there a ot of members and you are not the only on thinking as such in the beginning of this issue.

By being bold and posting your true thoughts you echo what other lurkers and also other posters may be thinking and pondering in their heart.

i admire you boldness and humility!~ God bless.

We are not allow to talk to dead ppl. And the pope said himself he doesnt not know where he is. And we pray only to God and canonize saints

With all due respects you tottaly crossed the line, make a threat of it if you would and see its forbidden talking to dead ppl. Praying for its ok, praying to only to God and Saint. Just astonished my sista

You realize of course that canonized saints are canonized through a process which includes verifying miracles attribute to them? And that these miracles are attributed to them as a result of people praying to them pre-canonization?

I think you’re confusing Solomon’s sin of necromancy in conversing with the spirit of Samuel as being the same as prayers to dead loved ones. Here’s an excellent article on that very topic: Praying to Dead Relatives | Catholic Answers

even if you are right with the prayers, could be im wrong ofc…the talking to dead ppl is not correct.

You’re dead wrong, my friend.
We may talk to, and pray for the intercession of, anyone we reasonably think is in Heaven or in Purgatory. This is actually how saints get on the path to sainthood - after they die, people pray for their intercession. The saint at that point is just an ordinary dead person and is not even a Servant of God yet.

I could ask Mother Angelica right now to pray for me, or I could ask my own deceased mom or grandma to pray for me. I talk to my deceased parents all the time, stuff like “Mom, I miss you,” and I’m sure that little boy talks to his dad.

We are not allowed to CALL UP the dead, like through occult means. That’s not the same as talking or praying privately.

And if somehow the person we are talking or praying to is in Hell and we dont know that, then God would simply hear our prayers or direct them in a positive way. No sincere prayer is ever wasted.

My sista if you are conviced of that God bless you. Read early church history and biblical theology you will realiaze a lot of things.

But talking is not sayin miss you , thats an expression. Talking is like, hey today i been doing this or that bla bla which is an abomination to any first century christian or jew.

Btw about this isssue there must be some kind of statment in canonical right or catechism or ecumenical council

My question in love to you would be what if some day “they” tell you something, what would you do? becarefull with that. wish u well

So if you get a medium to talk to your dead relative is sin, If you are the medium no problem? ty but I disagree. Love u no rage at all

“They” already have. Many of us have occasionally gotten a little message from a deceased loved one in response to prayerful talking to them (did you actually read the sources I posted?)

It’s a little gift from God, in my opinion.

You need to learn to distinguish between the occult and continuing a relationship with a deceased loved one in Christ. It’s not the same thing and the Church permits the latter, and that’s what the Pope was telling the boy to do. If you haven’t lost a loved one yet, you may understand better someday when this actually happens to you.

I lost and young ppl, I hope you werent trying to make the case like im non sensitive to the issue, I am and I dealt with respect if not I apologize,

I am not to do that never, my conciense, the bible and much of early tradition does not allow me that. but thanks have a nice day

It’s okay. I’m just trying to explain why what the Pope said was okay.
The Pope really did give a great response here. He had to have been guided by God Himself.
God bless

even if you are right with the prayers, could be im wrong ofc…the talking to dead ppl is not correct.
If when you say “talk to dead people” you are referring to an attempt to hold an actual conversation with the deceased (meaning a dialogue between yourself and the deceased) then you are correct in that we are not allowed to talk to the dead. This is necromancy, and is indeed a sin. This is not, however, what Francis was talking about (or anyone in this forum thread) nor was it in any way implied.

If by talk to dead people you’re talking about simply telling a dead loved one that you miss them, that you love them, that you are praying for them, and you do not seek in any way to establish an actual dialogue with them then this would fall into the same realm as prayers to the dead, and would not be counted as necromancy. Therefore it is not a sin. This, if anything, would be what Francis was talking about.

There is a very fine line between praying to those who have passed on and committing the sin of necromancy, but it is a line nonetheless.

I hope this clears up any confusion, God bless 🙂

Yes it clears a lot. My question is when I say talk in spanish Hablar I always talk for getting a response ofc there are exeptions, My biggest worry is that by saying this things like I miss you and all of that you are been driving my deep emotions that are very intense. So what if a demon just responds I miss you too. What if you get an answer is not your relative.

In that situation you could be emotionally puppet by “it”

If you were to hear a response, and were then to respond in kind to whatever voice you heard, that would be committing the sin of necromancy, as you are now guilty of conversing with spirits. If you hear a voice it is my understanding that you are never to engage that voice in conversation. The only acceptable response is one of prayer, and prayer alone.
