Is it just me or what? M noticing tht the pope has been keen to send his condolences to the victims of boston and texas incidents but there are also earthquakes in iran and china which have claimed a lot of lives!! But i dont hear him sending consolences or prayers or even talkin about them…why?

It’s interesting that you posted this in the “Popular Media” forum. I think that’s the answer to your question. The media cover some things and don’t cover others.

If you look at the Vatican News Office site – news.va/en – you will see that the Pope did ask for prayers for the victims of the China earthquake. That sort of thing doesn’t make the New York Times or other major news sites. They’re more likely to report on things relating to the U.S.

Pope Francis Assures Iran, Pakistan Quake Victims of Prayers
VATICAN CITY — Pope Francis is praying for the victims of the earthquake that killed 35 and injured 100 in Iran and Pakistan.
“I raise a prayer to God for the victims and for all those who are in pain, and I wish to express my closeness to the Iranian and Pakistani people,” he said during his April 17 general audience at the Vatican.
“I learned with sadness of the violent earthquake that struck the peoples of Iran and Pakistan, bringing death, suffering and destruction,” he said.

Pope appeals for calm in Venezuela, relief for China’s earthquake victims
My thoughts also go to those who were affected by the earthquake that struck an area south-west of mainland China. We pray for the victims and for those who are suffering because of the violent earthquake.

A quick google of the topic showed many creditable sites stating that the Pope was asking for prayers for those people.
