The Superior of the Society of Saint Pius X (FSSPX), Bp. Bernard Fellay, was called to the Vatican to meet, in the afternoon of June 13, 2012, the officers of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith (CDF), I.Media has learned. Following this meeting, the Prefect of this Dicastery, Cardinal William Levada, will deliver to the FSSPX authority the conclusions of Benedict XVI at the end of the discussions aiming at bringing the Society to full communion with Rome. I had a dream two nights ago that this happened and myself and two friends of mine from my FSSP parish were celebrating. Its been a frequent topic of conversation with us because although we have an FSSP parish where I live, there is a HUGE SSPX chapel in a neighboring city. I’m moving to that city in the next week so I’ve been thinking about it a lot as well

Father, let my prayer be heard in Your Presence, for it is offered through Christ our Lord.

Shouldn’t the title of this thread have been “Pope Is Responding …”, at least until more is known?

Praying that the right decision is made, whatever that may be.

MODERATOR NOTICE

Faithful to the Magisterium of Pope Benedict XVI, respectful of his authority as Supreme Pontiff, and obedient to the Vicar of Christ, this forum and all posts will submit to whatever decision the Holy Father makes and there will be no derogatory remarks about the outcome, nor will there be a pitting of one side against the other. Anyone caught doing so, will receive a warning and then an infraction.

The moment is a delicate one that requires a solemn response of prayer, fasting and respectful silence, not politicking.

I’m not saying that it’s happening. I’m saying that there is the potential and I’m trying to prevent it.

Please pray and be prudent with you comments.

Guiseppe, is this a joke, or is it for real?

Never mind, Guiseppe. I see that it is no joke.

Well, it is already evening in Rome. Isn’t Rome six hours ahead of the East Coast?

Guiseppe is not that type of person.

Also, the first place to cross-check is Rorate. 🙂
Dear me! I didn’t accuse anyone of anything. 🙂

And let’s get back to the topic at hand. If you have never been on a forum where people actually do this type of thing, consider yourself fortunate.

On a personal level, SSPX member churches have been kind to me and especially kind to one of my Catholic friends, and I pray for true Catholic reconciliation.

If I may offer my humble prayer:

Lord, I pray that you guide the Catholic church in her mission of spreading your gospel and that you unite her in truth and reconciliation. That in unity, the Catholic church will be stronger and better equipped to do your work. I pray for humility for those that are contrite. I pray for charity for those that are correct. I pray for wisdom for us all. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.

I have been asked to clarify what is or is not allowed.

Whatever the outcome is, some people will be upset and others will be delighted. Both sides are free to express those feelings and thoughts.

No one is allowed to call into question the Holy Father’s decision on this forum. I can be pleased or displeased with his decision and I can say why. I cannot say that I’m right and he’s wrong.

No one will be allowed to attack Bishop Fellay or the SSPX. Disagreeing can happen without name calling and without calling into question another person’s integrity.

We will respond with honesty that is tempered by good manners and great love for all involved.
