After his upcoming scheduled meeting with Muslim leaders this next week, the Pope needs to let this whole thing go. No apologies or any more explanations. You cannot talk to these people! For those who do not know who Ali Agca is, it is the very same person who, made an assasination attempt on JPII. He warned the Pope from jail to not go or he will be shot at.

Well, for one thing I didn’t think I was judging anyone, just stating as to what has been taught to me about Christ. That He is the promised Messiah, not Muhammad! And yes, I have known Muslims and they are free to believe what they want, no problem here. If they are living a Christ like life i am happy for them. God will judge them in the final hour. As for using those words “these people”, I did not mean any disrespect. I would use the words “these people” if I were describing a group of football fans. But the fact is they, all Muslims are opposed to Christians because they don’t believe as we do. They are opposed to our faith. They don’t believe Christ was the Messiah (just a prophet). Ergo, there is a fundamental difference between them ans us!

Perhaps my last rant was a bit off the mark. There are probably Muslims that are not opposed to us, that are willing to let us live our lives and worship as we please, but i stand by my statement that the two faith’s are incompatable. The basic belief between the two just isn’t there. Thanks.

However, the basic belief between Jesus’ teachings and Islaam ARE IDENTICAL!!!

So the problem is not with Jesus’ message or even with Islaam. The problem is with the fact that you do not know the MESSAGE of the very person you CLAIM to follow.

You said “basic belief”. So what is the MAIN BELIEF, the “foundation” of all beliefs in Islaam, according to your understanding. And what is the MAIN BELIEF, the “foundation” of the beliefs in Christianity/Catholicism? And there is no need for a lengthy, convoluted diatribe. Just give the one “basic belief” that you mentioned is incompatible.

They are not even close to being identical. Let’s start with the obvious fact that the Muslim “Isa” is not the same as the real Jesus Christ:

Our Jesus is the Son of God who died on the Cross to save the whole world.

(In the Quran Jesus ’ name is Isa. )
Isa is a created human being.

“The similitude of Isa before God is as that of Adam; **He created him from dust, **Then said to him: “Be” : And he was.” Surah 3:59

Isa is just an apostle.

“O people of the book (Christians) commit no excess in your religion: nor say of God aught but truth, Christ Isa the son of Mary was (No more than) an **apostle **of God.” Surah 4: 171

Isa was not crucified.

“That they said (in boast) “we killed Christ Isa, the son of Mary”…but they killed him not, nor crucified him.” Surah 4:157

Isa will return to earth to destroy the Cross.

" The hour will not be established until the son of Mary (Jesus) descends amongst you as a just ruler, he will break the Cross…" Hadith vol. 3:656

It would take a long time to do a side-by-side comparison of how dramatically the teachings of Muhammed and Jesus Christ are in contrast. But here’s a start:

Muhammed on marriage- He degrades the sanctity of marriage by stating that it is for the pleasure of men to enjoy their woman. He also allows for up to 4 permanent wives and a limitless number of “temporary wives” (which we call in English "a one-night stand).

Islam considers the wife a sex object.

**“Your wives are as a tilth (a field to be ploughed) unto you, so approach your tilth when or how ye will.” Surah 2:223 **

(“Approach your tilth when or *how *ye will” - let’s not forget the incident when Muhammed rapes one of his wives and that he consummated his marriage with Aisha when she was 9 years old.)

Jesus on marriage- He elevated the institution of marriage to a Sacrament, a sacrament involving one man and one woman. To have relations with anyone outside that union is adultery.

There are suras on just about every imaginable thing related to intercourse including orgies and fetishes. There are also many teachings about urine (human and camel), feces, and even the menstrual cycle (mostly about what a man can and cannot do during this time in his women’s lives).

We have created them a (new) creation {72 Houris} and made them virgins, Lovers, friends…”

Jesus was celibate.

Matt. 19:11-12 - Jesus says celibacy is a gift from God and whoever can bear it should bear it.

Matt. 19:29 - Jesus says that whoever gives up children for the sake of His name will receive a hundred times more and will inherit eternal life. Jesus praises celibacy when it is done for the sake of His kingdom.

1 Cor. 7:7 - Paul also acknowledges that celibacy is a gift from God and wishes that all were celibate like he is.

Matt. 22:30 - Jesus explains that in heaven there are no marriages.

The reward of heaven is the beatific vision.

I am thankful that our Holy Father has been taking Muslims to task for their double standard – they demand their religion be respected and they have freedom to practice their religion, yet they deny that to religious minorities within their own countries and they certainly don’t show much respect towards other religions.

And I’m glad he’s not repeating the current false mantra that Islam is a “religion of peace.” Just noting the violent and insulting rhetoric directed toward the Holy Father that has come from the mouths of Islamic leaders around the world, political and religious, speaks volumes about the Islamic mindset and actually proves the point of the quote the Holy Father cited.

Let’s pray for the protection of Pope Benedict and that God will use him in an important way to reach the Muslim leaders he’ll be meeting with.

The main belief of Christianity/Catholicism iis that Jesus Christ died on the cross for our sins. He did this out of LOVE for us. Is this simple enough?
