That it’s not true. There is no credible historical record of any such “Pope Joan”. Take a wild guess who was sitting in the Chair of Peter when this supposed “Pope Joan” was supposed to be “pope”. You guessed it! An actual Pope.

My guess, its possible. The papacy was a hot mess during the Renaissance. Lots of ungodly extracurriculars going on.
 
Pure fantasy. From what I’ve read, during the time this supposed “Pope Joan” was Pope, first there was Pope Leo IV, and immediately after him was Pope Benedict III. There is no place to historically insert Joan between these two, because one reigned directly after the other. The whole “Pope Joan” business is completely false. Always check reliable sources for more credible information on the Church and its history. Hope this helps.

This claim has been thoroughly and completely debunked. The only people who still think it happened either ignore the evidence against it, or are being actively misleading and intellectually dishonest.
