I know that the church is trying to make Pope John Paul a Saint after so many miracles are attributed to him. So when you pray to John Paul do you ask him to perform the miracle or ask him to intercede for you to God for the miracle? My answer would be for him to intercede for us but I want to know the church’s position on this.

Something to the effect of "I ask for the intercessory prayers of such and such saint through Jesus Christ for whatever the need is, that way it’s in perspective, through Jesus because the saints have no power on their own, only that which Christ permits. They been caught up in the beatific vision are joined with Christ and he allows them to perform certain tasks. As an example Jesus said to Faustina that the work of mercy that He was accomplshing through her on earth would continue in heaven, amen!

That’s how I see it also but I had someone tell me that they were up at 4am one morning watching ETWN about Pope John Paul. A person on the show said they prayed to John Paul for a miracle and was granted one by him. I tried to explain that they asked the Pope to intercede for the miracle (that Jesus granted the miracle) but they said that not what they said on the show.
