in the Vatican Radio’s article about the similarity of Pope John XIII (whom my parents very much adored) and Pope Francis, the word struck me of: THE TENDERNESS OF GOD.
Not just one thought moves me about the indeed great similarity of Pope Francis to the sainted Pope John XIII, but a overwhelming slumping of cogitations - a conglomerate of lumps of entangled thoughts. It’s all within both Pope’s common will to unite all people with Jesus Christ - in a „universal ecumene".
It’s the dignity of all people, disregarding their being, their undeserved being born Catholic, their other religion, race, education, wealth or poorness - the dignity ALL received through creation and Jesus Christ’s resurrection: The dignity to be able to address God and to be with God forever.
It’s this dignity God granted ALL, to make them invited by God, and it’s God’s tenderness, that forehand does not exclude anyone.
Let’s as Catholics be aware of this fact, instead of sinning against God’s plan and intention.
It was the Pharisees who who denounced Jesus, because He mixed up with tax-collectors and others Traditionalists looked down at.
Many Catholics look down at other denominations up to the extend of hatred as proved in forums. But let’s look at Jesus, who is God in God and he who saw Him, has seen the Father.
Jesus Christ forgave prostitutes, He inaugurated the tax-collector Matthew as His Disciple and much more - over which the Pharisees could only shake their heads, down to deadly hatred.
Both, Pope John XXIII as Pope Francis where strongly attacked and criticized by today’s Pharisees. Pope John XXIII because of his strong will to almost enforce ecumenism. Strong forces among the traditionalists among his cardinals twisted after Pope John’s death his intentions, his successor Pope Paul V could not reestablish then. Up to this day Pope John remains in wide circles misunderstood - same as Pope Francis.
But let’s mind, that Pops John-Paul II one of the most popular Popes of all times, chose with great intension the names of these two great fighters for ecumene. Not without a strong special reason and desire Pope JP2 did so.

The word ecumene actually means inhabited. The unity of ALL Christians (in a future world). But if we Catholics see this Future in a far future that doesn’t really touch us, we are wrong. St. Paul mentions this FUTURE WORLD in Hebrew 2,5.
As we all know as fundamental Christian knowledge that this FUTURE WORLD with all Christians in one united family, every single one of us must do all he can to enforce this, but not in the sense of that word „-force", but with the mentioned love and tenderness of God.
