Homily is in the vernacular. The Mass is printed in both languages in the Missals. No problem at all for the layperson if he is interested in participating.

It’s amazing how for some Catholics, the only form of liturgy that needs to defend so many things about itself is the so-called Tridentine (a misnomer) Mass.

Participating seems pretty clear cut as far as the Mass is concerned.
