Mother of God, this is so ridiculous especially the comments of Kaninchen. This person does not want to accept that the Catholic church did them any good whatsoever. No matter what you say, try to explain, historical facts given by her own people, she will still ask the same old question…which Jews? That’s all she says. Do we say which 6 million were actually Jews and which were Christian? No we don’t because there is truth to it. It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out “which Jews” were saved. Obviously the thousands of Jews from Rome just itself, the Jews from surrounding countries that fled their areas for protection of the Holy See.
Enough with the numbers Kaninchen, you sound very foolish.

You can read many stories about Rabbi Zolli. His story is well documented.

One can do their own search on Eugenio Zolli.

Pius XII couldn’t be open about his help for the Jews. It had to be covert by definition, or he wouldn’t have been successful. Eugenio Zolli knows Pius XII’s efforts AND the Catholic Church in saving Jews from the Nazis. Pius XII set the tone. And those who followed his tone saved many. IMO, this is what should be of focus regarding Pius XII. NOT those who did NOT follow his lead.

As you already know, This won’t stop a certain crowd from demonizing the pope.

Are you a ‘freeper’ or did you just get ‘Free Republic’ on a websearch?

The request for a citation was in response to:

The pope protested particularly against the deportations of Jews in Slovakia, Hungary, and vichy, France, since these were formerly Catholic countries where Fascists had gained control and they still had a majority of Catholic citizens.

So quite how the Zolli relates to ‘Slovakia, Hungary and Vichy’, you’d have to explain to me.

The thing is that I’ve nowhere argued that Pius and the Church were not responsible for saving lives so I’m not sure who you’re arguing with here.

Yeah - I think it was your clear and unequivocal expression of gratitude to Pius that confused him.

You can’t have it both ways Kaninchen-you’ve certainly intimated that Pius XII was a bit of a slacker when it came to saving Jews.“which 800,000-show me the page where he saved 800,000”.I gave you the name of the book and it’s author Rabbi David Dallin,I EVEN offered to purchase it for you and mail it to you but you refused.I again question your credibility. You say that you’ve never accused Pius XII of any malfeasance or indifference-yet why are you even commenting on this thread then?I think you’re being disengenuous and perhaps a little insincere. .
