Some political science professor from Macalester College wrote a 1-star out of 5 review on Amazon.com on Rabbi Dalin’s “The Myth of Hitler’s Pope”, all because he claims it uses no “archived sources” that aren’t written in Italian (he assumes Dalin can’t read it). But he praises Yale professor Susan Zucotti’s book “Under His Very Windows”], as he claims she does use “archived sources”, and that she’s already a highly-regarded scholar on Holocaust history.
However, Rabbi Dalin mentions her in his book, and he states she ignores a lot of evidence that is in support of Pius XII, and even when she is faced with something that does support the fact that Pius XII helped the Jews, he finds some excuse for why the reader should dismiss the fact. Critical reviews on her book on Amazon also state her book is a lot like this.
But has anyone here read Under His Very Windows? What is it like?
