VATICAN CITY, MARCH 6, 2011 (Zenit.org).- Benedict XVI is praying that the assasination of the only Christian member of Pakistan’s cabinent, Shahbaz Bhatti, will “awaken” consciences to the need to protect religious freedom.

Out of curiosity, would he be worthy of being deemed a “martyr”? Whether martyr of the faith or martyr of charity? I’m just wondering if the murder was because he was Catholic, or because he wanted to remove the blasphemy law?
