when did the church use the term pope for the first time?
it is unclear, as the term pope is simply an anglicised version of the greek papa (father), and is meant as a term of endearment. The Greeks have been refering to their religious leaders as papa for as long as anyone can remember, even Paul called himself Timothy’s father.

Indeed, and Peter in I Peter 5:13 refers to “my son Mark.”
