No - it doesn’t. I’m honestly a bit disturbed by such open hostility to the plans of the Pope.

The MP didn’t restrict the TLM in any sense. It didn’t say “You may not celebrate the TLM if nobody asks for it”, nor did it restrict the right of the Pope to mandate it for every parish.

I understand that change is sometimes hard to accept, but you really have to get with times on this one.

That may be true in your area but not mine. Locally there are parishes that have an interest and now offer th EF at least once a month and others that don’t and have no plans to do so.

It is a reversal to go from making it available as described to forcing it on all parishes. It is just barely a year since the MP was issued so what could be the reason for such a possible reversal?

No… it would be a reversal if the MP had said “ONLY those who request it may have it”. That’s not what it said. It laid down a framework by which people may have the TLM, in order that it may become more common in the Church.

It’s an interim document, since the Pope hasn’t yet abrogated it and mandated a TLM for every parish. That’s a long-term goal.

The fact that you’re so unhappy about the progress in the Church, Eilish, makes me certain that we’re going in the right direction.

I think we can be certain what the intention of the Pope is. It’ll just be some time before official implementation occurs.

The burden of proof is on you to demonstrate some “innacuracy” by quoting the document itself and demonstrating it.

There is no “burden of proof” without the future action(s) being taken.

At this time, given how the MP is constructed, there is no need to push it on all parishes and no provision to do so - especially after only 1 year.

Stop treating the MP as if it has the final say in the matter. The Pope has the final say. He’s the one who promulgated the MP, which is obviously an interim document. He can change the provisions at a later date once the circumstances for the introduction of the TLM into every parish are more favourable.

I’m convinced that there is nothing of greater importance to the life of the Church and of the world than the common use of the Traditional Latin Mass. This magnificent liturgy will transform and enrich the faith of millions with its humble, beautiful prayers and its extraordinary focus on the glory and mystery of the Eucharistic sacrifice.
