Pope requiring Priest to leave wives

I was told by someone with anti-catholic sentiments that there was a Pope who, during a move toward total celibacy in the priesthold, required those priests who were currently married to leave their wives. I have yet been able to find evidence of this or proof to disprove it. Any help?
