Please explain why the letter stated “…may not receive Holy Communion.” and not “…are excommunicated.”First of all, they are punishments, but they are designed so that the sinner may repent.
It says the negative judgment is unchanged. They judged them to be excommunicated for 200 years. It hasn’t changed.
