Pope says that JW's are doing the preaching

It just hit me now.

Circuit overseers dont have kids. Hmmm… I wonder if its a coincidence.

Do they use birth control or even more drastic means to accomplish this?

I dont recall a single one that had children…

I could be wrong but they only come in to check the $$$ 3 or so times a year.

But, if the Pope is condoning their faith, I would argue NO he is not and this is a blatant LIE.

Hello people! Would you base anything on what a cousin has to say about Holy Father?

I hope you would not base anything about me on my cousins view.

(safe to say as mine are mostly dead)

I never figured out how they picked the poor chump to be the one to stand in front of the donation box either.

i wonder how he kept track of all the donors/and contributions?:confused:

When I left Bethel in the late 1980’s to get married, the JWs encouraged me to pioneer and not to have children. They gave me a packet with all kinds of information on contraception. In fact in they even gave a talk at the 1987 District Convention stating that it would be better for married couples NOT to have children and to spend their time going from door to door rather than having kids.

I am sorry. I did not know how long you were in it and that you were a victim of the 75 thing.

I know a lot of Jw women that died due to breast cancer.

I dont know if it has a connection to the pill or not, but mommy of 4 (or mommy of 2 or 3 or something?) posted here about the side effects of the pill to a real gung ho witness here recently that dropped off the radar that Admitted its certainly a biblical thing to not partake of ABC…

He even said " I can respect that" and guess what?

We did not see him again.

Anyway, I also was wondering why they are so hung up on titles like Father and Pope

When we all know the titles they have…

Wonder if I should make a list?

Nope. They know what I mean.

Unfortunately, I noticed that the titles they used only drew attention to certian things,

even on the lowest rung of them.,

if one was an auxilliary —

if one was a pioneer— it was as if people would almost look at them as too worthy to be amoung the rest of the ones —

Many other things I noted…

I try to forget it all, but its never going to go away will it?

I have a scar that I look to now as a reminder how I was saved from ever believing a single thing they did.

Long story. Boring.

But now, a passion for me to open others eyes to what I saw myself with Gods grace and the Holy Spirit as a very young child.

It was the words of Jesus himself.

I was not buying what they were selling. I never did. I had no choice for a long time as a child to attend that bogus gig.

Jesus heard my incessant prayers to be released from that bondage.

As a child.

I went to confession after I married my JW DH and my Pastor told me the Church does NOT see them as Christians. They ARE viewed as a cult w/a capital “C”. Just as Mormons are not viewed as Christians either. To be Christian means to believe in the Trinity, so I take it from what the Pastor told me.

Just what I wanted to say! If they were Christians, why would I need to do a “radical sanation” to my marriage?? Just as Damascus said ouchless haha It is needed in order to “heal” my marriage… so yeah!

Funny thing you mention this because the JWs just did on Sunday’s public speech. They do encourage birth control but not abortion (contradictory isn’t it). They rather have people become pioneers then have a child. How can anyone who takes the Bible so literally in certain ways ignore what the Father has said about that? It is in the Bible! UGH!!! :mad:

I wonder what this meant?? What’s interesting is that the JWs ALWAYS use this line… they contradict themselves too much… :mad:

It’s clear enough to me… What does this mean to the JWs then?
Deut 25: 7-10
7 If, however, a man does not care to marry his brother’s wife, she shall go up to the elders at the gate and declare, ‘My brother-in-law does not intend to perform his duty toward me and refuses to perpetuate his brother’s name in Israel.’ 8 Thereupon the elders of his city shall summon him and admonish him. Ever wonder why the JWs always ignore things like these??? If it’s in the Bible, then you think they’d follow it… but no… :rolleyes:
 
Radical sanation is done for the Catholic spouse so that they may receive the Sacraments, in the case where the other spouse will not, under any circumstances, agree to marry in the Catholic Church.

The Bishop of your diocese has the final say so in this.
Why do you say you need a radical sanation? Your spouse will not marry in the Church?

Interested because my former bf absolutely refused to be “under the Pope’s authority”… but there are other issues along with that, but that is what I would be seeking if we were to marry outside the Church, and then I begged to receive the Sacraments instead of living as brother and sister.

Patti, the reason why I need a sanation is because my husband absolutely refuses to have anything to do with the Church, and because I want to be able to receive the Eucharist and be in good terms in my relationship w/God, he thought this would be ok. I spoke to a Canon Lawyer, and a Priest in the marriage tribunal in my diocese, and they told me my case seems like it’ll go through. I think the pastor at my parish is sending my petition today, so I pray to God this is accepted!! :gopray2:

Thanks for your introduction of a new term, radical sanation, to my knowledge. I am amazed at your ability to maintain a relationship with a male JW given the male authority stuff there group has going on. I saw first hand how my brother treated his wife and mother of five who was not a devout witness. He divorced her and we were shocked when he got custudy of the minor children

Word of caution for those who have children with a JW:
The society will help JW’s out if need be with legal assistance (their guys or guys that have a track record of fighting on their behalf) with no limit if a custody battle is to take place. So, you better have a ton of money to go to battle with them if its a custody dispute. And trust me, they will try to make sure you never see your kids on Christmas or Easter or let them be with you on their birthdays.

I cant tell you how I know this but I do. Of course they dont jump in with offers of help until you are tottally tapped out. But, if you whine and moan about your woes to them, bingo! IF kids are involved they will go gangbusters to “save” them from the non believing parent (non JW).

I dont know, is it something I will enjoy? If you think its up my alley, I will PM you for it. But I really dont see it would be helpful unless there is an admission of lies on it.

I don’t know. It looks better than what jwtruth had pasted on his video. There was more detail showing dates and name of the paper, etc. I’d send it to him if he wants it.

I just find stuff like that interesting especially if you read a quote in something and want to go to the actual source. On the discussion board that I found the guy who had it (was posted over a year ago), he stated that he got it by emailing the actual author. When I emailed the guy, I didn’t really ask any questions for the him to prove that’s where he got it. I just wanted to see the article in full.

BTW, he HAS been checking us out because last time he logged on was yesterday around 4:40pm (PST)…
