Islamic leaders have demand the Pope step down. Now the Muslims believe that they have the right to demand the Pope’s resignation. First they want to kill him and now they will settle for his resignation. Ah, but if WE told the head of Al Azar University in Egypt that he had to resign there would be more riots and murders by Muslims.

This goes back to Constantinople AFTER it was conquered by Muslims. You remember during a previous jihad, before political correctness. At any rate the Caliph’s decided who the Patriarch would be and removed them at will. More then one was simply executed. At the Phanar one gate remains closed because a Patriarch was hung there and the Greeks want people to remember that. Oh the joys of dhimmitude.

So now they think that they have the right to tell us what we can and cannot say, what we can believe, and who the Pope will be. As far as they are concerned we have no rights.

PS: Today 3 Christians were unjustly executed in Indonesia. Christian leaders called for the faithful to remain home and be peaceful. Once again we see persecution and Christians do not react violently.

Christians have been threatened and martyred since Christianity started 2,000 years ago. We should continue to pray for the Holy Father continue to be proud of his speaking the TRUTH.

Hear, hear.

Which Islamic leaders would have been stupid enough to say this? I believe you’re supposed to link to a statement or article ces.

My only other response is :rotfl: :rotfl: - not in a thousand lifetimes!

If we suggested that AmahdiniJIHAD needed to step down every westerner in Iran would be murdered on the spot…

That would be hysterical if the Islamic radicals weren’t so crazy.

The “pope, and all infidels, should know that no Muslim, under any circumstances, can tolerate an insult to the Prophet (Muhammad). … If the West does not change its stance regarding Islam, it will face severe consequences,” it said.

Wow. Well there’s a quote (from the link) which pretty much sums it up.

I’ve seen some comments on other llists, and an Anglican one I boo in on (I have Anglican friends, fighting to remain faithful Christians) is typical.

Much of the comment from the “outside” is predicated on the assumption that the Holy Father is the same as a political head of state or government. It’s as if a political figure had made a statement that caused a bad recation from a recognizable group. Things like he should have known better, or he knew full well what he did, and did it for a reason and was wrong, keep coming up.

Catholics, of course, know that the Holy Father is the Vicar of Christ, and successor of St. Peter. Sometimes, when others make comments as if he were some sort of politician, I get ticked off, but sometimes, I just laugh. As we stand by the Holy Father, I thing it’s probably best that, in spite of the situation, we keep our sense of humour. After all, the devil himself, it’s said, runs away from laughter.

Blessings,

Gerry

Falling off the chair.

:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

ok, sorry. I am back up on my chair now.

Continue.

The problem or mistake isn’t what he said. It was the reaction to it by the Muslims. This is a crucial distinction. If the Europeans and the Left don’t get it then they had better learn a lot more about their new religion.

I think this whole thing came about because the Pope said basically that they were irrational and some other stuff. I saw a quote of some Muslim saying Jesus was Muhammed’s dog or something. Here we sit whining about it and shaking our heads while they are out making death threats and demands. Sheesh.

Its very very rude for these Islamic leaders to make this demand. We should point this out to these Muslims and demand that they apologise to all Catholics.
First they want to kill him and now they will settle for his resignation. Ah, but if WE told the head of Al Azar University in Egypt that he had to resign there would be more riots and murders by Muslims.
Any Muslim who desires murder of the Pope should be arrested for terrorism and imprisoned for a period of 99 years. Desire to murder is the same as murder.
This goes back to Constantinople AFTER it was conquered by Muslims.
That is correct but please remember these Muslim conquerers (called Ottomans) were also racists whose Turkification policy converted the land of “Turkey” from a Greek majority land to a Turkish majority land. Constantinople was, is and will always be the capital of the Greeks and the correct name for “Turkey” is Greece!

Turks, Kurds and Arabs are Muslim peoples who converted from the ancient Christian peoples, namely Greeks, Syriacs and Coptics. Islam in its orthodox form is Nazism and converting to Islam means complete renounciation of your past ethnicity. Read both Qur’an and Hadith if you want proof that Prophet Muhammad is no different from Adolf Hitler.
Even today the “Caliph” of Egypt, Hosni Mubarak decides who shall be Coptic Patriarch! Shenouda III has to be careful with his words, or else he will be murdered by the government backed mafias and then a new Coptic Patriarch will have to be appointed. This is an iterative process.
So now they think that they have the right to tell us what we can and cannot say, what we can believe, and who the Pope will be. As far as they are concerned we have no rights.
This is why we must fight Islam by every possible means.
PS: Today 3 Christians were unjustly executed in Indonesia. Christian leaders called for the faithful to remain home and be peaceful. Once again we see persecution and Christians do not react violently.
This is the precise reason why Christianity is a true religion and Islam in its orthodox form is not a religion at all but a cult. Read up St John of Damascus excellent writings against the heresy of Islam. This great Church father lost his hand which was amputated by the Caliph.

I wonder how many of these Islamic leaders have actually read the Pope’s speech. I wonder it the proportion even reaches 1%.

If they had read it and seen the quotation in context would they all be so crazy?

Benedict’s talk.

Vatican statement on comments about Islam

Cardinal Bertone comments (almost essential reading)

Any Muslim leader who hasn’t read these things and isn’t prepared to read them and yet calls for either the resignation or the excution of the Pope is a (words edited by asteroid to avoid offence!)

Christians have been threatened and martyred since Christianity started 2,000 years ago.
Correct. St Ignatius, Bishop of Antioch was martyred under Roman Emperor Trajan around the 2nd century C.E. All he did was speak the truth to an Emperor who threw him into a den of wild beasts because he could not accept it. Pagan Rome is very like Islam.
We should continue to pray for the Holy Father continue to be proud of his speaking the TRUTH.
A very good suggestion and yes, I will keep the Holy Father in my prayers. I also pray that the hearts of Muslims will be opened to accept Jesus our Lord and be part of His Church.

Well, actions speak louder than words, as we all know. And the reaction of the Muslims have made the Holy Father’s words prophetic.

They do indeed want this Pope to resign, because he is speaking the truth!

What Islamic culture really fears is people controlling their own destiny and having personal freedoms (i.e. deciding what to wear, basic things like that).

No Islamic cleric has offered a rebuttal to the Pope’s actual assertions, which was his intentions, but instead they have called for his murder, and the murder of Christians in their lands because of his truthful statements! Ludicrous!

If they had read it and seen the quotation in context would they all be so crazy?
Yes! We must remember that in most Muslim countries they either get their news via Al-Jazeera or the BBC, and more often than not, they get it through their clerics, who are calling for His Holiness’ murder.

The Muslims wait for any opportunity to have that ‘persecuted mentallity’ so they can go on a rampage and killing sprees. We must remember that Islam’s ultimate goal is total conversion or annihilation.
