Pope should resign

I agree with all the comments here. The Muslim reaction, by the extremists, is illogical and irrational, but consistent with the practice of their faith.

It is so difficult for Christians or even just secularists in the West to react to the Muslims, since we fundamentally don’t agree with their tendency towards violence. They would say that is ironic, because have been in so many wars and killed so many people. And, OBL makes a big deal out of the nuclear weapons the U.S. used in Japan. In fact, the fire bombing in Germany and Japan by the U.S. caused more deaths, intentionally, than did the nuclear weapons.

The Muslims know the difference between church and state. Saddam’s regime was largely a secular one. But, they like to blur the distinction in reference to the U.S.

The evidence in Iraq and Afghanistan is that the only thing that stops the radical Muslims is defeat. Like the ferocious Japanese in WWII, the Muslims have largely suicidal tactics, i.e. they don’t acknowledge any limits to their warlike tendencies.

Given all the attrocities committed by the U.S. during WWII, the Catholic Bishops in the U.S. retroactively approved of the U.S. tactics during WWII.

Muslim leaders fail to recognize or acknowledge how much restraint we are actually showing. For example, we haven’t beheaded anybody in Guantanamo, or even in Abu Ghraib.

On the other hand, Muslims will attack any Westerner. There is no “Geneva conventions” mentality there.

Islamic leaders have demand the Pope step down. Now the Muslims believe that they have the right to demand the Pope’s resignation. First they want to kill him and now they will settle for his resignation. Ah, but if WE told the head of Al Azar University in Egypt that he had to resign there would be more riots and murders by Muslims.

This goes back to Constantinople AFTER it was conquered by Muslims. You remember during a previous jihad, before political correctness. At any rate the Caliph’s decided who the Patriarch would be and removed them at will. More then one was simply executed. At the Phanar one gate remains closed because a Patriarch was hung there and the Greeks want people to remember that. Oh the joys of dhimmitude.

So now they think that they have the right to tell us what we can and cannot say, what we can believe, and who the Pope will be. As far as they are concerned we have no rights.

PS: Today 3 Christians were unjustly executed in Indonesia. Christian leaders called for the faithful to remain home and be peaceful. Once again we see persecution and Christians do not react violently.
i thought drinking in Islam is forbidden :rotfl:

none of these islamic clerics know how to read? :bigyikes:

“Behead those who say Islam is violent!!!

Crazy nutcases.

If we suggested that AmahdiniJIHAD needed to step down every westerner in Iran would be murdered on the spot…
I remember the spelling of his name because it has MAD in it…and he is as mad as the hatter…

Armadinejad

what is funny is that Muslims proved what the Pope quoted is true. The Pope was talking about anti-violence, the Muslims showed violence as a response. The Pope talking about “reason”, and the Muslims showed no reason at all. The Pope is asking for non-violent dialogues, the Muslims don’t even know how to read. I think the Pope kinda over-estimated things.

All in all, the background of Islam is based on violence . Had Muslims been “safe” regarding what and “who” they believe in, had Muslims had a peaceful ideology, we wouldn’t have witnessed all what we’re witnessing all over the world. When any simple thing can trigger one’s anger, it means the person has a problem somewhere, and when this is a common trait between the followers of a religion, it means the religion has a problem.

Well, actions speak louder than words, as we all know. And the reaction of the Muslims have made the Holy Father’s words prophetic.

They do indeed want this Pope to resign, because he is speaking the truth!

What Islamic culture really fears is people controlling their own destiny and having personal freedoms (i.e. deciding what to wear, basic things like that).

No Islamic cleric has offered a rebuttal to the Pope’s actual assertions, which was his intentions, but instead they have called for his murder, and the murder of Christians in their lands because of his truthful statements! Ludicrous!
So, so true! Who’s to say what’s going to happen next? Pray for our beloved Pope!!!

A Muslim cleric, to defend the violence in Islam ( yes at least he did not deny it) asked the Pope: If Islam is violent, what about the Torah you believe in

first the cleric commited the Tu Quoque fallacy
Second the Muslim cleric forgot that wars are history so there is no Jihad concept.
Third the Muslim cleric forgot that our Model is Jesus, not anyone else

PS: the Muslim cleric called us NASARA, a clear indication he knows not the difference between Nasara and Christians, hence how would he know that what Muhammad quoted in his book is taken from nasara heretics and not Christians for example Basilides?

Yes I agree the Holy Father should step down, convert to Islam, take a nice long break in Ireland, probably have a round of golf at the Ryder cup in Kildare, and if he don’t then we should warn him that his life may be in danger.🙂 and a Holy war is inevitable.

Then we can all live happily ever after.

I really think that sounds reasonable, appease, appease, appease !

Any Muslim who desires murder of the Pope should be arrested for terrorism and imprisoned for a period of 99 years. Desire to murder is the same as murder.

As long as nobody has murdered anybody, we can still hope for a dialog of peace. Since they have already killed a nun (I presume they are responsible), there should be no more dialog.

What happened to the moderate muslims, the intellectual muslims and the so called 90% plus peaceful muslims? Where are they? Are they hiding?
The usual explanation I get from them ‘when asked, why they can’t make peaceful rally’, is that unlike catholics they don’t have central authority. Well our protestant brothers don’t have central authority, but they can easily call for a peaceful rally! I don’t buy that explanation, as we can see in the televisions, they can easily march and rally when it fits their agenda.
Another question, where is the Nation of Islam headed by Farrakhan? Are they moderate or fundamentalist?

Catholics, of course, know that the Holy Father is the Vicar of Christ, and successor of St. Peter. Sometimes, when others make comments as if he were some sort of politician,…
He has a “secretary of state”, no?

He has a “secretary of state”, no?
And that Cardinal’s job is to assist the Holy Father with the governance of the Church, and her relationships with nation states. The Church thereby responds to the need to maintain temporal order in her own affairs, and respond to the secular world in an appropriate manner.

Were the fact that the Holy Father has a “Secretary of State” (you might want to visit the Vatican website and see the duties of that part of the Curia) indicative of it being appropriate to view him as a secular politician, he would have the status of the head of a very small state indeed – Vatican City. He has that, but somewhat more, shall we say.

Blessings,

Gerry

One thing I would like to see is for Muslims to get this angry and riot over what bin Laden does. If they can get upset at the Pope why can’t they get that mad at the terrorists? Why aren’t they calling for Osama’s head? Inquiring minds want to know.

So why call him the secretary of state for the vatican city if you don’t want to be considered government? Just asking the obvious.

Are you an anarchist? Of course the Church has a government. God established a government for the Old Covenant as He did for the New.
