There is a rumor coming out of Rome that the Pope will consecrate Russia to the Immaculate Heart of Mary (as requested at Fatima), on October 13, 2005 - today, along with the Bishops that are present at the Synod.

If true, this would be a very good thing. Although it seems unlikely, let’s hope there is some truth to it.

If there is a news source, please post a link. And besides, it has already been done years ago.

This would be a blessing beyond words, if true. I will pray that it is true and that this Pope finally listens to Our Lord through Our Lady. Oh what a joyful day it will be…

What John Paul II did in 1984 was less than what Pope Pius XII did years earlier. John Paul II consecrated the world to the Immaculate Heart of Mary, and did not do it in union with the Bishops.

Pope Pius XII actually consecrated Russia by name, but again, not with the Bishops. At another time, Pope Pius XII consecrated the world, like John Paul II did.

The consecration performed by John Paul II was nothing new. It had been done before by Pius XII. It nether netioned Russia by name, nor was it in union with the other Bishops.

USMC,

I have not been able to understand why it was so hard for all of the Popes to fail that one request. How many millions could have been saved?
