The Pope’s visit in May to the Portuguese shrine is likely to take place on May 13, 2010 — the 93rd anniversary of the Virgin Mary’s first appearance to three shepherd children, Lucia, Jacinta, and Francisco.
Hopefully his visit will put an end to the open defiance of the portuguese bishops pertaining to the implimentation of the Summorum Pontificum. In all of Portugal there is only ONE place where the Gregorian Mass is celebrated legitimately and open to the laity: on Sundays in Fatima, at the Marian Priests’ chapel (and this is “loaned” for the occassion). It’s an hour’s drive for me each way every Sunday, but it’s well worth it.
