I do not know what the GIRM syas about it, but it may not be necessarily irreverent. I mean, there’s a difference if the other hand is the pocket or over the heart, the latter being rather reverent, IMHO.

I really dont understand why you qouted my text on this one. I, a traditional Catholic, am the one who pointed Jesus’s name out!!! You’re attacking EXACTLY the wrong guy here. You’re not making any sense!!!

And Your attack on traditional Catholics makes no sense. I just truly, completely do NOT understand why you attack “traditionalists” as if they are not part of the Church! They worship the same way the Church did for hundreds and hundreds of years! How can all of that suddenly be wrong? I dont understand why you seem to hate our beleifs and practices so much. And this notion that we only focus on what we think? How is that any different from you guys?! We just read the documents, read the history, and have a love for tradition that not all Catholics have. We find it beautiful and spirritually edifying. Why do you hate us so much that none of that matters? Why do you vilify us? Why do you not think that we should be repected, honored, and treated fairly, as the Pope does?
When and IF it does, I hope you traditionalist will realized you have banded together and now it is YOU that is running the church. Whatever happened to the tradition of letting the Pope do his job.🤷

I really DONT understand you AT ALL! If such a change happens it will be because men in the hierarchy agreed with us, and wanted the change too! How come you act like any progressive change is made “by the Church” but any traditional change is made by “traditionalists who have taken over the church”? This just shows that you treat traditional Catholics as if they were not Catholics!!! It hurts US, and it hurts THE CHURCH, which you are supposed to be a part of. WHY DO YOU HATE US?

What, the “traditionalist” crowd is the group that understands that most! WE’RE the ones advocating obedience to all the years of Catholic teaching and practice, not just the last 40 years of progressive, relativist innovation. WE’RE the ones arguing for obedience in following the rubrics which were handed down and are NOT open for interpretation of change! WE’RE the ones who have suffered under the scorn of bishops who hate us as much as you do, understanding all the while that they have the power to do what they do BECAUSE the Church is no democracy. And thank God it isnt! Or else the ignorant and blasphemous masses would carry the day!

The more I read here, the more I begin to think that the traditionalist crowd DOES see themselves as a “church within a church”, waging some kind of battle…and now, apparently thinking that the Pope and the hierarchy is “siding with us”**

If you had READ the post from the standpoint of NOT being attacked, You would have realized I didn’t even know that you were a Traditionalist. I was actually agreeing with you about the name of Jesus IS used in mass. Alot of Traditionlist have gotten this “them against us” attitude to the exclusion of anything else. They automatically think everyone is “out to get them”

Yes, I do not like the way this “movement” is being handled because it is causing ALOT of disunity. Traditionalist say things like, the NO is evil, the people going to the NO is going to hell, JPll caused a Crisis in the Church. The church is No longer who she says she is. blah blah blah. The Traditionalist is in ONLY true Christians,…etc.etc. (So who is attacking whom?) All this has come from a certain group that are saying the Church is in Crisis Those who are believing this has actually CAUSED the crisis.

Next time, don’t go off the deep end BEFORE you really understand what is being said.:rolleyes:
