At the Italian consulate:

From CNN:

“I don’t want him here, if he was here now I would strangle him with my bare hands,” the suspect, who identified himself as Ibrahim Ak, 26, told a Dogan news agency television camera as he was detained by police, according to The Associated Press.

“I fired the shots for God,” Ak said as he sat handcuffed inside a police van outside the consulate. “Inshallah (God willing), this will be a spark, a starter for Muslims.”

“God willing, he will not come, if he comes, he will see what will happen to him Inshallah,” Ak said.

Ahhh the religion of peace.

What’s scarier, is that a lot of non-muslims still buy that half-baked “religion of peace” PR maneuver… When is everybody going to wake up?? Being honest about what a twisted cult Islam really is is usually considered “hate speech” now! :mad:

this kind of attitude is part of the reason i left islam.

becuase he’sseen as the leader of the people of the book (jews and christians) and the quran tells them to kill the people of the book. besides, they feel he insulted islam a couple months ago.
 
This is hardly surprising. According to my priest, the best selling book in Turkey is entitled, “Who will kill the Pope?” Talk about SICK!
 
The Pope and the Catholic Church is the unique religion that can challenge islam, it´s universal, it´s supra-national and it´s in all races and cultures. The other christian churches are national or small groups and other religions like hinduism or judaism are very national too.
This is the practical reason, and the theological, Islam like protestantism criticises the truth and the truth is with Kepha.

What I want to know is… why is everyone so obsessed with killing these days? It’s not just the Pope – there was a movie called “The Bush Assassination” or something in Britian I believe.

The majority of Muslims are not terrorists. The reason they never speak out against those who are is because they are scared of them and the terrorists would kill them if they spoke out. I would have thought that Catholics, at least, who are used to people spreading lies and hate about them would not do the same thing to Muslims.

Sorry but some lunatic says he would love to strangle the Pope with his bare hands is definitely newsworthy, especally in the Catholic News portion of the board. Your accusations are unfounded.

Islamic terrorist hate and want to kill almost everyone. Muslims hate even Muslims in their “faithful” practice of the teachings of the Koran. Muslim terrorists spend a great amount of time killing other “Infidel” Muslims.

I remember reading about how an insurgent Muslim terrorist came to Iraq to kill Americans. When he got there all he was commanded to do is kill Iraqie Muslim civilians. He got depressed and went back to Saudi Arabia.

In my opinion, this is what happens when politicians talk about a culture of life but don’t live a culture of life. The threat to the Holy Father is, in my opinion, indicative of how pro-life politicians, falsely so-called, take actions that inflame hatred and death that results in fallout on true pro-life leaders like the Pope.

In my opinion.

I was not responding to the article, which I had already read somewhere else. I agree that the man in the article is not a follower of God. What I was responding to in my previous post was your commentary and the posts that followed your original post; people saying how this is proof that Muslims are not peaceful. I have a good friend who is from Lebanon and though she is Catholic, as is her family, she had many many friends (and her family still does, who live there) who were Muslims. They never tried to kill her or her family…hmmm.

Oh, so you know all those people? As I am told by my friend, her family’s Muslim friends were all very devout people. By the way, this was every Muslim she knew, which was certainly the majority of people she knew in Lebanon. This was not a minority of “undevout” Muslims. Have you ever lived in the Middle East? How many Lebanese and Palestinian Muslims do you know? I think I’ll take the word of a Lebanese Christian over yours.

I am not trying to downplay Muslim extremists or anything like that. I think that they are horrible people and what they are doing is wrong. However, unlike you, I do not take what those people do and apply it to every Muslim in the world, and then say that those who don’t kill people “are not as devout”.
