Porn Addiction Help? i wanna stop Sinning Period

I Have Not Been to Confession Yet, i Know i’m in Mortal Sin but, im Kinda scared to go 😦 i wanna stop sinning period i’ve been addicted to porn & Masturbation im always depressed cause i want to be with this girl that i’m basically in love with, i Really want to stop sinning is This Good? i went 3 months with out porn or jacking off now im addicted to it, before back in august-september, i Attempted satanism, Was this God? i realized this was stupid After like 3 weeks but, i Really wanna change should i confess all of this? anybody that’s had this addiction before help me? I don’t know why i look at this filthy garbage, i Love this girl i Could Marry Her, and i dont care if shes a year older then me i love her! i wanna be her boyfriend or at least friends with her! if anyone has had this struggle before could you Help Me?

Could God Answer my prayers? i Know i’m in Mortal Sin And i Feel Horrible For it 😦
 
I went through a horrible time with pornography and masturbation when I was younger also. It came to a point where I wanted to go to confession. And trust me it is the best thing you will ever do! The priest will help you, my priest helped me and now I have no problems with this. I also recommend looking at the shop on catholic answers because they have some books/Cd’s about this. And yes God will answer you prayers. Jesus said anything you ask in his name he will give. Don’t be embarrassed, this is the perfect time to go to confession as it is lent. Don’t give up on God. You have made a huge step forward by admitting that you have a problem. I will pray for you as I know what this time is like. I failed many time and had to confess masturbation and pornography many times in confession, don’t be embarrassed. Don’t think you are a terrible person for God loves you. Don’t think that God doesn’t love you just because you have done these things. He loves you just as much as anyone. If you are a baptized Catholic by all means go to confession. Also make sure you go before receiving the Eucharist. Even if there are no confession time tomorrow just ask the priest that’s what I do. God Bless!
 
Thanks, is it wrong to hate yourself? i hate myself everyday Yes, i’m in love with this Girl, i’m 15 she’s 16 But That doesn’t Matter right? All i wanna do is be with this girl only, i Would Never Look at Porn Again if i was even at least buddies with her 😦 i’m Always depressed i Would be the worlds happiest guy if i was with her man 😦 even friends i’d take that just being near her is all i want 😦

Please relax and remind yourself that Jesus died to free you of this sin and of your addiction. Do not despair, and never allow yourself to be scared to go to confession. The doubt you feel about your ability not to falter in the future, or your unworthiness, is Satan speaking to you, instilling that doubt. Pray for courage to make a good confession and then go and feel the lifting of the weight and the freedom of God’s grace. These aren’t empty words. None of us are worthy of mercy, yet all of us have been given that priceless gift. You need only accept it.

Masturbation is a sin for which many struggle. Realize that often, it is a brief period of self-gratification that comes from profound loneliness or despair; but when it is over those feelings return, stronger than before. Realize that you are unlikely to overcome this addiction by yourself. Life is simply too hard to endure alone. Reliance on God is a necessity. I encourage you to do a few things: First go to confession weekly. Second, go to mass daily, if you can. Pray the rosary daily. Delete the porn from your computer. And if it is too much of a temptation, turn off your computer in the evening and read a book, or go for a jog. Pray often. Remind yourself that if you can overcome the initial urge and engage in another activity that urge will pass. Do not allow yourself to say “I’m already in a state of mortal sin, so why not give in?”

Don’t worry about the girl right now. Focus on making yourself a strong man with a solid foundation in faith and a desire to stand firm in your beliefs. When you are ready your need for human companionship will be fulfilled. But first take those steps that God commanded to heal yourself; for they will make you stronger. I don’t wish to dismiss your youth, but you are at a difficult stage in life. Often children your age know much about sex, but little about love. And when strong feelings for another arise you become overwhelmed by them. Understand that your feelings are, though very real, probably temporary. Neither you, nor she, really know yourself yet. Wrap yourself in God’s mercy and allow him to show you.

I had the same problem with masturbation and porn at your age and I’m telling you after confession you will jump for joy. Also a really good thing to do is to talk to the priest about this, they will help you a lot. Also as was mentioned before pray the rosary everyday. Don’t hate yourself, we all fall into temptation. 🙂
 
GO TO CONFESSION AS SOON AS YOU CAN!!! Our Lord grants great things to those who go to Confession, especially strengthening their will against future temptation. I also highly recommend entrusting yourself to Our Lady by wearing the Brown Scapular and praying the Rosary. Praying the Rosary grants a multitude of graces to the faithful that pray it fervently and devoutly, I HIGHLY recommend it, especially when fighting sins of the flesh.

In addition to this, whenever you are tempted to look at pornography or masturbate think of Our Lord’s Passion, especially the Scourging at the Pillar, which he underwent for sins of the flesh. Another thing you could do, and I do myself, is to put a picture of the Crucifixion or Scourging as your desktop wallpaper or find a framed picture or a Crucifix and set it next to your computer along with some Holy Water to bless yourself with when you feel tempted.

Another good thing that I was told by my priest is to keep your computer in a public place. Like in your family room and not in your room, by all means get your computer out of your room! 🙂
 
I Hate myself Every single day Everyday i grow self hatred sometimes i wish death upon myself I just want to be friends with her or date her it Doesn’t Matter as Long as i’m near her thats all that matters when she hurts it hurts me And i’ve been thinking if there is a god before but, i know now all i want to do is be with her … is this a sign from god? her boyfriend broke up with her and 2 months before i said if i could have 1 wish it would be with her or 4 months im not sure 😦
 
I think you may have to find some help from others also. Like parents, doctor, spiritual director. Do you know your parish priest well?
 
What do you think you think that was a sign from god? i’m not sure all i know is that i love her 😦 if god could answer my prayers i would be so thankful :crying:

I struggle with pornography and masturbation addiction as well. Go to confession and address your issue with your confessor. Tell them you struggle with this addiction and they will tell you ways to fight it. We must not say we want to fix this but more that we are going to fix it. Take steps to improving yourself and even if these steps are small there are very benefical. DO NOT IGNORE THE SACRAMENTS! Go to confession, Go to Mass, and pray your rosary! On top of these things you can also seek counsling or go to Sex addiction anonymous group meetings! At these meetings you can find sponcors but if your under eighteen I think you should tell your parents about this issue. You must stay away from the occasions of sin! We have a desease and with knoing that we need to stay aay from the things, people, and places that make us sick. Also understand that you are not a bad person! I don’t know how many years I wasted in self pitty over guilt. God knows your heart and therefore He knows your struggle. God is always listening to your prayers and He always answers them. Surrender yourself to Christ and He will give you the graces needed to be strong!

Lastly I would recommend not getting into any relationships until you have addressed your problem and are actually making progress to be sexualy sober.
 
I really don’t see how it would be a sign from God because of your young age. What I recommend is seeking spiritual guidance from you priest.
 
What i said before, it Doesn’t Matter as long as i’m near her thats all that matters i would like to be friends it doesnt matter i do wanna date her and even marry her but, if we can be friends thats fine 😦
 
Have you approached her? Does she know of you? Once again this seems like more of an obsession and not a want of friendship. Have you talked to your parents? I know that easier said than done though.
 
I’m Going to confession as soon as i can i kinda feel a little better now, i’ll ask my parents if i can go but, im still kinda nervous to go though 😦
 
Would you guys say i’m a good kid? i don’t drink or do drugs i’ve only took a sip of beer once and thought it tasted like horse pee i’m actually a stay at home guy sort of, No it’s not an obsession, Don’t like going places much, Yes We’ve Talked i’ve texted her before, i Really Can’t Say i’ve been the best christian I’ve was almost a satanist then atheist But i Know God does exist i Know i’m in Mortal Sin actually i’ve committed a lot of mortal sins but wouldnt you say i’m not evil if i’m actually wanting to change right? before, i didn’t know if i was evil or good 😦
 
You are definitely trying to change. By even coming on to the Catholic answers forums you are trying to change. Go to confession and don’t look back, but look ahead. 🙂
 
Yes, i DO Want to Change, And, Ima learn Japanese so i can Break away from my porn addiction thats a good habit right? or watch a japanese anime if i have the urge to watch porn or pray 🙂 i just wanna be at least good terms with her if god could answer my prayers 😃 i still feel kinda depressed but i feel better a little bit

The Self-Hatred is from the Father of Lies - Don’t listen to him, because LYING is his Native Language. Jesus loved you so much He not only died for you, He used those Roman Hammers to Engrave YOUR NAME in His hands. and, He’s the ONE Who’s waiting for you in the confessional, because He not only wants to put your sins away, He wants to tell you how much He loves YOU. So, Please go to confession, even if you have to “hijack” your pastor this Monday or Tuesday.

The embarrassment, the shame, the need to conceal this sin, is also from the Father of Lies - who only wants to pull you down into the same Lake of Fire he’s going down into. God NEVER intended for His children to go there - That’s why, In the fullness of time, while we were still God’s enemies, Jesus died for us so we might have LIFE and have it to the full. Satan, the ADVERSARY of the People of God, is using & magnifying the shame and embarrassment you feel so you won’t seek God’s MERCY & HELP in a time of need. He’s using them to drive you away from God. Don’t let him.

One of the Desert Fathers said where there were TEARS, there would be MERCY. It’s time for you to soak in the MERCY.

Regarding this girl whose bf left her - It’s not a sign - It’s TEENAGED Relationships. I remember girls who flitted from boy to boy like bees flitting from flower to flower, and the same for boys who seemed to do the same with girls. That they’re now doing this SEXUALLY and STARTING as YOUNG AS 11 & 12 just blows my mind. On this one, I would say NO just because it sounds like this girl could very easily become a “God before me” just from what I’ve read in your Posts.

And, If your computer is in your room, ask your parents if they can help you, move it the common area at least for the next few months. That will help to keep you from using it for Computer Porn. Most of us have had “Paper Porn” at some time or the other - You’ve just got to “bit the bullet” and throw it out, not donate it to charity, throw it out (Recycling in the Paper Bin after shredding or tearing it apart is OK). The Porn just can’t be in a condition where someone else can “use it”. It’s done enough damage already.

Now, I’m going to ask my brothers to suggest things to take the place of the Porn and the Girl - You’re going to need Godly pursuits (Scripture Study, Prayer, the Sacraments including Daily Mass & Christ-Centered Activities) to take the place of this stuff you’re getting rid of…
