If I know the answer as you say why would I need spiritual and moral direction from a pastor? That’s illogical in a philosophy forum. I was on playboy’s list and forgot about getting off it. I told my priest I think I might have sinned and he said it was good that I have a conscience it’s when you have sin in your life and you don’t feel bad when it’s the problem.

I see thanks. I am going one step at a time. I told my preist I say the rosary mon-thur and on fri-sun I practice lectio divina. I am getting a hate for porn not so much swimsuits but if the blessed virgin and God feel I need the graces in this life to over come that too then I am sure I will get them. I will stay in prayer and seek pennance.
Seriously, why make an exception for depictions of swimsuits?? Don’t these websites, magazines and catalogues also tend to reduce the people you are viewing to a mere collection of body parts? Doesn’t this also promote objectification, and too often fan the fire of the passions? Think about it. It is a real blessing that you have an aversion to porn, but if you leave the door open and make exceptions, lust will very likely be re-established in your heart (I speak from experience!). One of the conditions for mortal sin is that you do it with full knowledge. Sounds like you didn’t have that (or else why would you be asking about it?).

I don’t know. I’m a sinner. Trying to obtain graces to make me holy enough for God’s presence. We are lost. If it wasn’t for God telling what is right and wrong being a perfect being, I wouldn’t know right from wrong. I hope that Jesus and the blessed mother can interceded for me and God will “show me and make it stick” when the time is right. If I need to know I will know. I trust in faith.
I would suggest bring your sins to confession, be forgiven and at peace. They will be protected by the Seal and no one will ever know. Don’t bring your sins to an Internet forum where you have no protection whatsoever.
Sacramental confession is necessary, of course. In addition, fellow Christians who support one another can also help to shine a light in the darkness. Secrecy, fear, and shame - the kind of shame which keeps one silent and isolated - often makes sin stronger in our lives. Then we might start rationalizing or start to feel hopeless. So yes, go to confession and be at peace. But if the Peace of Christ ever seems fleeting in your life, know that you are not alone. Many of us share a common struggle. We can also choose to encourage and support each other. “Confess your sins to each other and pray for each other that you might be healed.” James 5: 16. This does not replace Sacramental confession, but it can certainly help as well.

Well, I’m a sinner too! Don’t lose hope, and keep trusting in God’s love and mercy. Remember, God tells us what is right and wrong through our conscience - an informed conscience - and our conscience is rightly informed through the teachings of the Church. Kindly pray for me, as I do for you. For some of us, a singular moment of grace does indeed open our eyes and “make it stick”. For the rest of us, it can be a long process moving from sin to sanctity (over and over!) But don’t give up, and don’t just wait for that “once and for all” kind of healing which might not happen. Take up your cross every day.

You asked him “Why do you want to look at women scantily clad?”. If’'s he’s a guy, the answer should be obvious as to the “why” of the matter.
Now the question is whether or not is was a mortal sin. That’s what he was asking. The answer should be to remind him of the conditions needed for that to occur, and then encourage the sacrament of reconciliation during which this can be taken care of regardless of “mortal” or “venial”.
