Summary: I have not had meaningful work in almost 2 years and I have been working hard at growing closer to God and trusting in His will and being grateful for what I do have

Surprising result: My spirits have been much higher and although I do not have nearly what I use to be able to afford, I am more grateful for what I have and am also I lot more sociable and much less resentful

I am glad to hear of these changes you mention. One thing I have learned about having less, is that one gains a lot of time to take care of more important things and as you suggest be more sociable. It seems to me, that in a lot of cases the more we have the less time we have for others, for taking a walk, for relaxing, for prayer. It’s like things just take over, have to be cleaned, repaired, replaced, managed…well I guess you can figure out what I am trying to say.
