I am new to this forum, and I am thankful to have found it. I am wondering, though, what is a “OF Mass?” I have never heard the term, nor has my wife.
God bless,

The marriage would be invalid for a Catholic, but that does not mean it is invalid for a Protestant or someone of another faith. If those people were to convert to Catholicism and remarry, they would need an annulment.Thank you all so much! It seems as if I should have been able to figure this out, does it not?
Here is another question: If the Catholic church believes that a civil marriage or a marriage performed in a Protestant church is defacto invalid, why is so much time/effort devoted in an annulment proceeding to demonstrate that such a marriage was not valid?
Just wondering.
Don`t worry about it. There are so many acronyms and abbreviations flying around, no one should be expected to know all of them.Thank you all so much! It seems as if I should have been able to figure this out, does it not?

To expand on Musicalitiy: two atheists married in a civil ceremony are considered by the Church to be validly married. The civil ceremony is consistent with their beliefs at the time itJust wondering.
s conducted. i know of someone whos stuck in a stalled annulment case because of that.
