Possible Spiritual Warfare

HI, everyone.

I posted in the Prayer Intentions forum about the recent onset of Tinnitus. I’m seeing a couple of ENTs, so I’m doing what I can from a physical standpoint.

Here’s my dilemma…

Could this be some sort of spiritual warfare? Before I moved from NY back home to Ohio, I had a lot of anxiety that something would “go wrong”. One of the things I was looking forward to most was… silence. No more noisy upstairs neighbors; being able to just sit outside quietly and pray. Now there’s no silence. it’s as if my weak spot was exposed and “attacked”.

I never heard this sound in my ear in NY - ever. I’m certain of it.

I’m not asking for medical advice; as mentioned, I’m going to doctors. Just curious if anyone thinks this could be spiritual and/or demonic.
 
I hope the tinnitus is cured soon!

It is always possible that it could be of spiritual origin. It could be demonic. It could be God making you wait a little bit longer for the silence you long for. It could just be too much earwax (though I am sure that has been eliminated as a cause by now!). I would just offer it up and assume that it is just a physical problem and wait to see what the doctor says. I don’t believe in crediting the devil with much.

I often find that if I am close to having what I really want, there is some final obstacle* and I have to find that funny*. Yes, laugh out loud funny. I will be angry or annoyed or in physical pain and I just have to laugh at being thwarted - yet again.

I have tinnitus, had it for years, it can get to you, if you let it. I worked in a very noisy place, Jet planes, motors, test stands etc. Now I just imagine where I worked, and make the adjustment as I did at work. I understand N.Y. is a noisy city. While there, you were not conscious of tinnitus, but when the noise wasn’t there, tinnitus became evident. This is possible. As I see it, it is something God has allowed you to suffer, and it can be meritorious. Satan can use it against you if it leads you to discouragement, and even despair like any cross. Anxiety may be a factor, and Satan can definitely use that against you. It could show a lack of trust in God. If Satan suspects that you believe that something will go wrong for you, he certainly will enhance your belief, just like superstition, in order to lead you into a downward spiritual spiral.

I was thinking also that NY just masked it. But I know that there were times in my apartment when it was very still and very quiet that I ENJOYED the silence. Same in chapel. It’s so strange to me that it coincides with my move.
 
Well, anxiety does cause tinnitus, as I have told you previously. And God could be using this as a test, like Job. If you were anxious about moving back home, that can bring it on. Adrenaline directly causes tinnitus, as does any type of jaw problem such as TMJ syndrome, which is caused by stress. I feel for you! :console:

Same here!

I’m wracking my brain, and probably making things worse. I feel like I keep repeating myself, and I apologize for that! I just know that even at the most quiet times in NY I never heard this sound. I would have been at the doctor immediately for it. I’m not someone who can just let something go (obviously!).
 
You probably didn’t notice it due to the ambient noise is NY. I have it as well, it’s annoying, but bearable. Mine was brought on by serving in the Navy, living right under the catapult was not a great option!

I do occasionally think I hear words mixed in with the ringing, but it doesn’t bother my prayers, I attribute that to keeping a positive mindset. It is physical, it is common, it isn’t really an attack unless you make it one…IMHO.

I think of it as the off key angel choir!

Sometimes meds can make it worse. Likewise subaural sounds you can’t really hear, but are there anyway. It is a frustrating problem!

If it is caused by a sinus thing, maybe you are having allergies to the new environment.

It is clearly something God has willed for you to suffer for now, and Satan can use that against you. In addition to seeing the doctors, maybe offer it up from time to time during the day and asking for spiritual help.

But also pay attention to other aspects of your life: don’t let this distract you!

I used to actually hear a loud, frantic jazz band with a huge trumpet section. It was all in my head! Or ears. Thank goodness I don’t have this phenomenon anymore :o

Then read these three books for the answer and cure (if it’s a spiritual problem)

The above books are written by two Catholics in the charismatic renewal deliverance ministry in Ireland.
The first one is about John Gillespie (who is friends with the healing nun Sr Briege McKenna, and was friends with.the healing priest Fr Rookie), the second two books are written by Larry Cummins,

Those books are stunning!!!
John Gillespie bases much of his work in the healing ministry on a book written by a world famous catholic priest who was in the healing ministry.
He shows how to pray with faith for a miracle, in the first book I mentioned above. And countless people have been healed by God from following his steps from praying with faith.
Jesus did say in the Bible to all those He healed; “Do you believe I can do this for you?.. May it be done for you according to your faith.”

Otherwise: No faith no miracle. That’s what happened to Jesus in Nazareth, its written, “Jesus could do no great work in Nazareth because of their lack of faith.”

Read the first book, have Faith, and pray 🙂
 
Basically John Gillespie wrote,
It may be God’s will to cure someone, or it might not.

But to pray for a cure as long as you feel that is Gods will, and you have peace with that.

To pray for a miracle he recommends,

Asking God exactly for what your petition is;
Eg; “God heal my tinnitus completely.”

Then he says, use faith, thank God with 100% faith, that He has healed you. Keep thanking during the day, and for whatever number of months needed, whenever you think of your ear thank God for healing you.
The rule is, don’t doubt, don’t think of the tinnitus, don’t think that it’s getting worse even if it does get worse, or pay any attention to it, just thank God with 100% belief that it will be healed.

The Bible says; “Anything you ask Me and believe you have received it, you will receive it.”
Peter interceded to Jesus after Pentecost to heal a lame person, it says in the Bible, “And Peter, looking at him, seeing that the cripple had Faith To Be Healed, said to him ‘pick up your pallet and walk.’”
So faith when praying for a miracle is crucial.

John Gillespie did write, if it’s Gods will that you still have tinnitus, then that’s God’s will, but if it’s Gods will to heal you, He will, in His timing.
 
Sometimes things are just physical but the devil would love to take credit for it. It gives him power over you, I have been in spiritual attack many times and it doesn’t really bother me anymore since I realized the only thing I have to be afraid of is a world without God and that’s not going to happen. When you have fear, don’t give into it. Don’t worry about anything. He hears your prayers and cares for you and everything happens for a reason.

Just in case, keep saying the St. Michael prayers, it’s very helpful. I found this version on wickopedia
