Hey I put out a dessert spread yesterday, and a brunch buffet. Barely anyone touched it.

I’m only popular if I provide drinks!?!

Thanks! Help yourself to some dessert buffet, it’s been out for a bit. But I covered it with foil, so it’s good!

In order to prompt further posts in this thread…

Please explain (charitably) what the difference is between white wine, red wine and champagne and your preference for each or all 😉😃

Well it is quite complicated-
The difference between red and white wine is - color. The difference between wine and champagne is - the bubbles. My preference is - by the glass. 😁

I thought the white/red distinction came down to the grapes, and champagne was just sparkling wine.

Personally, I prefer white wines. In my experience, they tend to be a bit sweeter and have better fruity flavors.

I’ve tried exactly one glas of red. Not for me. But have been told it is an acquired taste!

So is the difference just in the color or is there a taste difference. If it is just color, then why do people prefer one over the other? Is it really just as simple as color preference?
white wines. In my experience, they tend to be a bit sweeter and have better fruity flavors.
Ah, now that I get! Back in the 80s’ I also got hooked on a peach flavored wine!!

Its not really just color, it is a bit more nuanced. There is a difference and the difference is more personal than descriptive and i would agree it is an acquired taste. I have never been convinced in all the descriptive adjectives that people use to describe the taste of certain wines. I either like or do not like the wine i am served, its as simple as that. Once i found one i liked i stuck with it and slowly tried others. You will find some of the differences stem from the food you pair with but please dont think there is a hard fast rule for the parings. I started with a sweeter red wine and now that certain wine is just too sweet for me.

I cant say i have a preference in the types of wines but I do have favorites of brand of certain types though.

Peace!!!

It gave me a hangover.
LOL! Honestly, for me that was like 3 decades ago - I don’t remember. All I do remember is that is was sweet and didn’t taste like wine at all, so much so that I had 3 or so glasses one after the other. It was that good! The other thing I remember was that it was in a cask, and there were I think two other flavors in that range, but peach was the one I liked. It also had a “peachey” color to it - probably food dye of some kind. But still …

Then it was either no longer made or no longer stocked at the bottle shop closest to where I was living back then.

Think it might have been 1988 too … 😀 … ah, the 80s’, not everything was bad back then!

Yeah, but the 80s is what unleashed Motley Crue onto the world. 😖

(I actually do like some of their music. Funnily enough, in The Dirt, they reference the 80s as the “worst [censored] decade in human history”.)
