Why should the Old Testament get all the art posts? Plenty of great New Testament subject matter out there.

Seated in a window was a young man named Eutychus, who was sinking into a deep sleep as Paul talked on and on. When he was sound asleep, he fell to the ground from the third story and was picked up dead.Paul went down, threw himself on the young man and put his arms around him. “Don’t be alarmed,” he said. “He’s alive!” (Acts 20)

Another Last Supper image. 6th c mosaic from Ravenna’s Basillica of Sant’Apollinare Nuovo.

The thing I like about it is that it’s obviously a reference to the Last Supper— but at the same time, it’s also a reference to the loaves-and-fishes miracle.

The other thing I like about it is that you can tell which one Judas is. 😉 Sometimes it’s hard to figure out everyone who’s not-Peter and not-John in art.
