I went to Confession two Saturdays ago, and usually I feel like a giant burden has been lifted, but this time I don’t. Does that mean that something’s wrong?
Maybe the Lord is trying to teach you something. We’re supposed to seek the Lord for Him, not feelings.
I’m constantly learning that lesson. For example, praying when you don’t feel like it, or don’t feel like you’re getting anything out of it is more important than praying when you feel it’s beneficial. That’s when you know you’re doing what God is asking out of Love rather than chasing a feeling.
That’s my take anyhow. It could just as easily be that for whatever reason you aren’t in an emotional mood. Or maybe you feel less of a load off your shoulders because your burden is getting smaller. Maybe you’re doing better. Now that’s an encouraging thought
